Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) November 27, 2005 -- Morning-after headaches, nausea, and other nasty hangover symptoms will soon be a thing of the past, thanks to the world's first lime-flavored, liquid shot that can be taken straight or mixed right into your favorite cocktail.
On the heels of their successful 'little purple pills' currently sold at a growing number of Vegas resorts including Wynn, The Palms, and Hard Rock, Las Vegas-based Cheerz USA, Inc. plans to unveil its new Cheerz Lime Peelerz with a splashy premiere Dec. 12 in Sin City. Media and industry gatekeepers will be served complimentary shots from attractive Cheerz Girlz. The product is scheduled to ship to a select group of nightclubs, bars and retail outlets in time for the upcoming holiday season.
"Although they really work and are tremendously popular, most clubs and bars have been hesitant to offer the pills out of liability concerns," says Cheerz USA President and CEO Patrick Cochrane. "Now when the bartender asks you to name your poison, he or she will be able to pour the antidote too."
The 25 mL (just under an ounce) shots are packaged in clear plastic, foil-sealed, tamper-resistant cups, and will retail for about $2 each. You simply take one shot with every 2-3 drinks, or include it as a mixer. The product does not effect intoxication, absorb alcohol or reduce B.A.C., so the traditional common sense approach to responsible drinking applies.
Cheerz is a safe, natural nutrition supplement that has been clinically proven to combat hangover symptoms such as headaches, nausea and palpitations by naturally bolstering the body's ability to process acetaldehyde, alcohol's first and most toxic metabolite.
A recent Japanese study in the July issue of Alcoholism: Clinical & Experimental Research, identified acetaldehyde as the culprit behind hangovers. In June, scientists from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) reported that acetaldehyde damages DNA in a series of reactions that can lead to cancer. A 2004 study published by The Research Society on Alcoholism in Vancouver, Canada, revealed evidence that acetaldehyde is a 1,000-fold more potent reinforcer than alcohol, and may play a significant role in abuse and addiction.
A 2004 placebo-controlled, double-blind, crossover study at the University of Southern California found that 78% of participants who consumed eight drinks or more reported that Cheerz did the trick. "The results of the recent data on the Cheerz pill seem to be very promising," according to Dr. Etienne Quertemont, professor of Psychopharmacology at the University of Li รจ ge in Belgium.
Named Best Hangover Cure in Jane Magazine's January 2005 issue, and a favorite of a major New York modeling agency representing some of the world's top supermodels, Cochrane says Cheerz has a sexy, healthy lifestyle identification, and promotes responsible drinking.
"We keep hearing the old wives' tale that hangovers are the only thing preventing us from drinking ourselves into oblivion like a bunch of lab rats," he says. "The reality is the vast majority are responsible, social drinkers. Two drinks or six, alcohol is toxic. So what do we take? Drugs like Aspirin or Tylenol, or Bloody Marys with even more booze? This is mild and natural, and it's impossible to take too much. You just pee the excess out."
Cochrane says that even after you recover from a hangover some irreversible damage has been done. "Over time the consequences can be tragic. The key to hangovers isn't cures, it's prevention," he says.
Cheerz is classified as a food supplement and is approved by the FDA under compliance of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA). FDA certificate provided upon request. Under DSHEA, dietary supplements do not require FDA approval provided they are made from safe ingredients under Good Manufacturing Practices and do not contain drugs.
