Wow it was raining buckets today and I had a dr appointment. I had to wait over a month for this appointment so I just dragged myself there. I told him how bad I am hurting and can't sleep. About everyother night no matter what I do or take I only can sleep about an hour. I roll and toss because I am aching so bad. A good night is 5 hrs and I wake up just as tired as when I went to bed. He would only give me 20 Ambien. I took it, better than nothing. He asked me how those cortisone shots worked back in the summer and I said it didn't work. Only helped for about a week. He said he would give me a different kind this time. I asked him how will I drive myself home cause it hurt so bad last time I wouldn't have been able to. I had someone with me that time, thank goodness! So I had to make an appointment for next week to have them in both knees. I have to get it approved first by workmans comp. Everybody keep your fingers crossed they approve me having it. They sure are picky about giving me what I need. I had to leave the Ambien prescription at Walgreens so they can call and get it approved since its a new prescription. Its worse than pulling teeth to get anything from WC!! They shouldn't be like that since my knees and neck are covered for the rest of my life. My blood pressure was good. 117/70 Thank goodness I have never had trouble with that...knock on wood!! I was told by dr when I was real young that since my mom had it and I smoked I would have high blood pressure before I was 40. They don't know everything, do they. Boy, I hate needles. I guess I shoulda went ahead and got them shots. I already am feelin like I don't want to go thru that again!! It hurt so bad the first time I cried. And it made my knees feel so full I hardly made it to the car. That was when I was dating Ron and he almost picked me up and I made him not do that...hell he is 65 yrs old. I made it tho.

I used to get the shots in my knees when I had health insurance, but it wasn't cortisone. It was something else that wasn't as hard on your system and fewer side effects. Worked great for about 6 months at a time, sure wish I could still get them.

I took Owl to Nevada a few of the times she had to have the shot and she seemed to come out in a little more pain than what she went in with ... but on the same turn took Papa Owl too and he come home smiling and happy as a lark (when he didn't have to wait long periods of time to be seen...)
GOOD LUCK Spdyer!

I'm sure this wet, damp weather don't help much either. Wish you could get some decent sleep. I was that way until about Nov. Only sleeping about 3 hours each night. Had been that way since March of last year. Still don't sleep like I should. If I get 5 hours a night, I consider myself very lucky.
I have a friend who had knee surgery last Friday. She had suffered for years. They went in and replaced her whole knee.

The dr office still hasn't called me about being approved for shots yet. I got my new script for sleeping pills yesterday. Ambien CR. I took one last night about 1:15am. Within 10 minutes I felt sleepy. Went to bed, went to sleep almost instantly and I think I slept all night without waking up a single time!!!!! Seven freakin hours....yeah! My bedroom is real dark and when I went into living room the sun was shining thru the windows and almost blinded me! Sunshine and sleep in the same day...hooah!

I called about my getting approved for shots, and lady I talk with was clueless. She connected me with a lady that deals with WC cases. Of course she wasn't there and I left a message. I asked her to check with WC to approve of my new treatment. I was nice. I said I guess you might have forgotten to call since Monday was a holiday for some. sigh...so hard to get help.

Well, well, ain't that something. I got a call from dr's office today. WC said the shots were not necessary. The lady said she was going to call the main lady at WC and talk to my Dr and get him to request it as a necessity. Let me tell you folks. If you ever get hurt at work and you have good medical insurance...say you got hurt at home and use your medical for treatment. I truly believe if I had done that to start with my injuries wouldn't be in the shape they are now and you WOULDN'T have to BEG for every fkn treatment or new prescription!!!

I don't like having very big tan lines. And sadly I don't have to worry about very big ones either.
