Some one told me to soak your feet in coffee and you'll feel better. The thing is I don't know how to make coffee and I can't stand the smell of coffee. Why would putting my feet in hot coffee make my pain go away? ? When it's my right arm that won't work.

I can't imagine not loving the smell of coffee first thing in the morning. I gotta have my caffeine!! Sheeesh, I need that redneck hot tub. Coffee is getting expensive lately so I will take donations for a hot tub soak of coffee if it helps pain. ;D

Any thoughts on not feeling drained and ready for sleep by 6:00 in the eve? I think I have to figure out a lunch time thing. Not sure what yet. Week one of a new situation and all I want to do is sleeeeeeeeeeeep. Still getting up at the butt crack of dawn to do my reading, but that is more because I like to watch the sun rise on the water. When I'm feeling drained I sniff Gain fabric softener with the orange lid. That stuff is like a warm spring day in a bottle! Ok just kidding, sort of. Eucalyptus will help revive you, just smell it. You can go to most craft stores and get a piece of the dried stuff they put in flower arrangements for less than $3. The scent lasts forever! Patchouli essential oil will do the same thing. I make my own perfume out of it and when I'm feeling drowsy or if I didn't sleep the night before, I put a little on my wrists, or you can sniff the bottle. It's a little pricey at times, depending on where you get it, but one drop will last for a day or two. I have a piece of pachouli scented soap in a mesh bag tied to the vent in my car. When I'm taking a long drive at night I turn the vent on and it helps keep me awake. Besides my car smells like a little hippy mobile. You can also put it on a cotton ball and stick it under the car seat or on the vent and it will freshen the car for a month; sometimes longer. Those cinnamon scented pine cones they have at Christmas will also work. Cinnamon oil is relatively inexpensive and a little goes a long way. Everyone is different and things that work for some won't work for others. You could go to a store where they sell essential oils, or candle supplies and smell different scents. One thing to remember is that if you're using pure essential oils, never put them directly on your skin, dilute them first. It can cause irritation and in some cases blisters. If you mix the oils with alcohol it will help with dispersion. I also put a couple of drops of sandalwood oil on my hands when I take my evening shower and rub it over my wet skin then air dry. It helps me to sleep and just two drops will leave me scented for the entire next day. I save on towels too. And heck I'm fat so you skinny women might even be able to get away with only one drop! By the way, I don't do well with herbs. But the oils I use are distillates of plants and are all natural.

You know as a medical professional.... it is hard for me to comment on non-FDA approved cures but I was raised by my g-ma who came from from the hills of Kentucky and West Virginia and I know that many of the herbal cures work as well if not better that modern medicine...
