Just got me a new squirrel rifle. A 22 bolt action Savage. I know, it aint nuthin special but as long as it shoots straight, then it wont take long to pay for itself.
Why a bolt action you ask? Well, in my pea sized breain I think that a bolt action shoots harder than a semi auto. In that none of the energy is wasted in workin the action so another shell is injected. Instead, all the energy is put into pushing the bullet out the barrel.
Sides, it should only take one shot.
Finally after three years without a 22 I get one.
Now to hang this humongous scope on it so I can see what I'm aiming at. ;D
anyone for squirrel stew?

Cupcake only likes canned store bought Vegetable Soup or Chicken Noodle Soup not the good homemade (she just doesnt have good taste) I made potatoe soup and Mom-n-law made homemade chili the other nite talk about getting good-n-warm and sleeping like a baby.But cupcake sure wouldnt even try it. So I let her FREEZE |

HB, did you really put a scope on your rifle? Did it make it heavy? Been huntin' yet? Heck, I don't even know when huntin' season starts anymore. I never really liked huntin' but I love to go shootin'. Cans, targets...stuff like that.

Yes, I finally got around to sightin it in, yesterday. Purty much dead-on, now. I even shot a walnut outta a tree just to try it out.
I aint been able to even hit a tree for a long time.
I can almost smell the squirrel an gravy an biscuits. mmmmmm!

It seems that we have quite afew squirrels around here this year normally all that we see are rabbits and the Deer and cayotes have a running path in the field just west of the house does all this mean a long cold winter ? um Im wonderin now cause the deer was really movin even before bow season started ~pondering~
