Hunting is hunting, right? For anyone that dont know much bout Morel mushrooms, here's a good link. nov55.com/mr/index.htmlI keep tryin to convince Sadsack to sniff em out. But Like many things, I can seem to convince him of that either. tell yer tales of the weirdest place ya found shrooms or any other weird thing bout it. I reckon the weirdest place I found shrooms was inna graveyard. kinda hadda funny aftertaste. lol

Well, its been nearly 30 or so years since I even had the opportunity. I grew up about a 1/4 of a mile above Grand River, a ways out of Mount Zion, There were LOTS of places there to find them, but I was so young, I had no IDEA the gold mine I took a co-worker of my dads out to, and handed over to him. I knew where they grew, I'd seen them year after year. Wasn't until he 'divied' up the take and 'generously' handed over some of what he would have had none of, not for me, that I tasted and UNDERSTOOD 'shrooming'!
There was that old grave site on our property we rented, but I never found any there. More likely closer to the river. We did good that year, but there also was a good rain that spring. I found that made more of a difference.
I imagine that land, and places I'm describing are underwater now, when surveyed we were told they would be. Shame, I knew LOTS of shrooming places there!
