Yay! Means you'll be cuttin up deer on Thanksgiving. Spydie, Deer season only runs ten days for the first run. Then theres muzzleloader season. Then Antlerless season. Then Tourist season. Oh wait. I dont think you havta tag them. ;D

It's really very simple, Spydie. Our Game Keepers like to have Thanksgiving Day off. And the State, they git by on a time fer time switch. Equal time off in lieu of Holiday time and a half is not appealing. So they git it over before hand. Conveniently, muzzleloader season begins the day after Thanksgiving. All seasons are over by Christmas day. It's also a money thing with th Department. Other seasons are disrupted by deerhunting regulations and rules. They wouldn't sell so many permits if people weren't free ta hunt when they go 'down home' fer the Holidays. The various states evidently try to cooperate with each other also. Tennessee cain't sell tags to Missouri hunters if said hunters have an open season at home! Elementry. my dear Spydie!
