That is a punt gun, They was used about the turn of the century by professionall hunters on flocks of ducks and geese mostly. They was mounted on the front of a punt (low profile small boat) they would float or slowly paddle up to a very large flock of ducks or geese and fire it off toward the middle of the flock. Lots of ducks or geese with just one shot. Then off to the local market to sell the meat.

lol ohhh frisky you crack me up!! I used to shoot at tagets, bow and arrow and gun, but to me a gun is a gun and they all look alike. I didn't load em, my ex did and handed em to me to shoot. He switched guns on me one time... more powerful.. it was not a good thing. I was not happy!

That was not very nice of him Sebs did you end up on your butt? I have hunted and shot blacktail deer with bow and arrow. So much fun. ALL weapons of ALL sorts are illegal here so I was unable to bring any with me. Well Ok maybe I could just use my wrist rocket on DHU.

It was not only not nice, it was dangerous! But I should have known enough about em to know the difference anyway. I never shot again after that. I think he was just mad cuz I could shoot better at the time, than he could.
Likely a good thing that I don't cuz I think it might be toooo tempting to practice on a few....... nahhh good thing I don't.
