Well we are into the 8th day of the month and 4 of them has been rainy. Not just showers, downpours. It's still so wet here when you walk thru the yard water squishes up. I did get my early garden planted although I feel the majority of it is now in the Mississippi River. Too muddy to even get down there. I can tell my onions are growing but as far as seeing if the carrots or potatoes are up I can't. Been working though the past few days in the flower beds. So many pretties are coming up, the redbuds are in bloom the trees are slowly putting out, hostas are peeping thru, some tulips are blooming, my bleeding heart is beautiful. Still spreading mulch, working on the north side, got maybe a 1/3 of it done and still will have alot of mulch left over. The best thing I ever did was call our local electric company and get them to bring me that. Yep still falling and each fall I seem to hurt myself worse and worse. I move so slow now with the walker but I plan on being outside every chance I get. Like yesterday I spread some more mulch, put down 4 gallon of Roundup, got the blueberries cleaned out and coffee grounds around them, don't sound like much but consider how slow I am I felt I got alot done not counting my housework. They speak of more rain this week, Where was this at last June, July, and August? ? I know we are never satisfied. We have to take what comes our way. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will have some more pictures to post.

TY..... ;D Just wish it would dry up so I could get into the vegetable garden. The way it looks now it would take 2 weeks of sunshine to dry things up around here.

Got the north garden tilled good this morning. Still wet in alot of places but at least it can air out good today before it rains again tomorrow All that rain washed the carrot row away, I tilled it up and will skip the carrots this spring will probably plant a late crop in July. Maybe it will be dry by then. Taters are coming up and headed onions are growing. Hoping next week to get some shelly beans and squash and bell peppers planted. Gonna wait a few more days before I plant any tomatoes.

TY Cali. Give it a couple more weeks and there will be plenty of pictures. ;D Gonna try to get out there tomorrow and plant some cabbage and maybe my squash and some shelly beans, if the ground is dry enough. It looks like it dried up pretty good today. Wasn't gonna plant any cabbage this year, but I saw some yesterday and they were calling my name....Joyce, take me home with you. Owl, it still ain't too late to plant some sweet peas. I just bought my seeds yesterday. I think you'd be ok up until the 1st of May and still make a good crop. They grow and mature fast.

whooohoooo north garden is planted, ;D OMG I am dragging too. Started about 7:30 this morning and got thru around 12, well thru outside. Here's what I planted, a row of flat Dutch cabbage, 8 hills of yellow dixie summer squash, 8 hills of space saver butternut squash, a double row of Alaska Wilt Resistant English peas, 2 rows of kidney beans, and 3 rows of cranberry shelly beans. Came in the house and saw they had put us under a thunderstorm watch til 5 this afternoon, it looks like the line will stay southwest of me. Sorry for the other people but glad it's missing here.

Starting tilling the south garden yesterday, went back this morning and right knee gave away again and down I went, couldn't get up. Luckily hubby is off today and I hollered for him and finally betwen crawling and prizing up on the tiller and my walker I got up. I have hurt my right ankle bad. Right now there is a knot and it's swollen bigger than your fist.

Be careful out there Joyce. You have a beautiful garden, but it isn't worth hurting yourself.

I just never know when my legs are gonna give. The walker helps alot and I had done good so far with the tiller in the north garden. The past 3 months I have messed up my right knee, cracked my tailbone and now hurt the right ankle. Very frustrating.
