Spent th weekend deer huntin with my grandkids. They wore me out. I have never ansered so many questions; even when I was arrested. Opening morning I had Kailee with me, and she nailed a doe. I don't think her feet have touched th ground yet! Hunter was my partner Sundy mornin, an tho we saw glimpses of 3 deer and a big bobcat, we came in empty handed last nite. He wasn't disappointed so's ya cud tell. We had us a blast, and I thank his parents and God for th chance ta do somethin I wanted ta do all my life!

Fer those of ya that don't know'em, Kailee is 10 an Hunter is 7. Of course in th way that yunguns their age keep tracka birthdays these numbers are vague an do nothin ta show that they are each infinitely older! Somethin like 10.7625 would probly be closer. LOL I was real pleased with their spirit an tenacity ( SEE, I know big words too). They got up in th middle of th nite, too excited ta sleep an despite youthfully short attention spans managed ta stay alert til th sunset 2 loooooooong days in a row! They showed me that there are at least 2 in their generation of my family who will carry on time honored traditions. And genetics bei' what they are, I'm perty confident there'll be more. I just hope an pray that Grampa don't fade out before they phase in!

Deer season is apon us here .... Go to wally world or any sports shops and there you see them.... The men ( and Women) in their cammo... You would figgure with all that cammo on nobody would be able ta see em..... We have 15 days till rifle season... I have 3 avid hunters in my house and they are all teaming at the bit... They have been sighting in guns, making sure they have their purty cammo, and have even been on the mountain "looking " fer signs... The rut is close to being upon us, The full moon is the 13 poor unlucky 13 for the deer, thats when the bucks have only one thing on their minds... and it ain't on the hunters in the woods.... Hopefully some of the older bucks taught the younger ones to hide in the laurel thickets...
