It's Wed nite, an season opens Sat. mornin. Got th orange stuff located an patched during th Youth Season. Been wearin th same cap since 1988, an had that orange vest since bout 75! They seen several generations of deer go by. I wouldn know how ta hunt without em. Guns are cleaned, oiled, an ready. I got th meals planned an I'm ready.
Ever year I say,"I cain't git too excited about huntin this year", but as openin day gits closer, I git over that. I probly awta went fishin with Hilly tonite, ta kinda take th edge off, but I didn. So when daylight comes I'll be as eager as I ever was as a kid. I reckon my ex'es was right bout one thing.....I'll never live ta grow up!!!!

Kool sinker, Good luck on the hunt ole boy! Ours starts in 10 days here and the guys are chompin at the bit too! da gave Hubby a coupla muzzleloaders and now he is excited over those. Been lookin online for some odds and ends he needs and also tryin to find where to get the stuff to make his own balls, and now he is looking into the leather clothes... Goin Daniel Boone on me he is LOL The first year he went huntin with my da and his friend the friend nick named him Joe Dirt ( this was way afore the movie Joe Dirt came out LOL ), cause he smelled like dirt and stalked the mountain like Daniel Boone. But he got his first deer. But gotta tell stories on him... Thought he had a doe but it was a button Buck... (Forgot ta check for the goodies atween the legs LOL ) Gotta teach them city boys everything LOL I had ta teach em how ta dress one an cut it up... He is still learnin there.... Thats what happens when you are raised in the city....

Well now, I sallied forth in hot pursuit of the elusive whitetale.......aw that's a dern lie! I launched m'self out'ere awright, but th only thing hot bout't was th coffee an fireside that I had left behind in th house! Now had it been work I was headed for, I got serious doubts I'd agone even at gun-point! Anyhow, I's doin ok sneakin along there like a Hollywood Indian til I hadta neegotiate this here little ditch, aww, bout three feet deep. Tripped on a grapevine, an was bout ta stick m'rifle in 5 inchesa water. I tossed th gun outa th way an cawt myself on my hands so I didn do a bellyflop, an that's how I got my gloves wet. Two ana haf hours astandin in this wind an innermitten rain/snow, an I decided it'd be a whole lot more sensible ta tell this as a survivor than have ya read about't in th papers!

So far th tally stands at 1 doe hangin in th barn. Yesterdy was jus miserable. First cold weather of th year where I was out in it that much. I bleeve th word is non-acclimated. Anyhow, felt like leventy-seven degrees below zero an wind like a minor hurricane! Takin spare dry gloves this mornin.
