Deer gets revenge after hunter shoots him The Associated Press SEDALIA, Mo. - A hunter bagged a big buck on the second day of firearms season, but the kill caused him a lot of pain. Randy Goodman, 49, said he thought two well-placed shots with his .270-caliber rifle had killed the buck on Nov. 19. Goodman said the deer looked dead to him, but seconds later the nine-point, 240-pound animal came to life. The buck rose up, knocked Goodman down and attacked him with his antlers in what the veteran hunter called "15 seconds of hell." The deer ran a short distance and went down, and died after Goodman fired two more shots. Soon Goodman started feeling dizzy and noticed his vest was soaked in blood. So he reached his truck and drove to a hospital, where he received seven staples in his scalp and was treated for a slight concussion and bruises. ,,, Information from: The Sedalia Democrat, www.sedaliademocrat.com

All hunters need ta remember that a "dead" animal needs to be approached as cautiously s a live one. When I's a kid, I took a "dead" squirrel away from my hounds, an I was a good 2 or 3 minutes tryin ta git away from him! He bit down on that web of skin between thumb an finger, an I liked ta never got loose from him, all th time havin ta keep them hounds from grabbin him agin!

I put a dead squirrel in the inside pouch of a hunting vest one time. A couple of minutes later you should have seen me trying to get it off. After that my game vest had the bag on the outside on the back...

I was tryin ta break these hounds from bein so "hard-mouthed" (they just ruined a squirrel fer eatin), by squeezin a front foot (th dogs; not mine or th squirrels). After th fact, its a little hard ta justify such behavior! lol
