Welp, me and Mud took his old boat out an was toolying around one of my favorites fishin holes. Caught some shad (mostly them teeny ones bout 3 or 4 inches and a few bigguns) An prceeded ta fish in what appeared ta be good fishin spots. We each had three poles each out pointd in all directions an I was just about ta bite into a halfa ham sammich when the 209 took off. Clicker wasa singing like summa the kids at work and didnt seem ta be no stoppin it. Dang fishie wudnt let me get the pole outta the holder. Finally he slacked a bit and I got it out, turned off the clicker an slammed it in gear. And off he went again. Takin line as he went. All the while I had all sorts a pictures runnin thru my tiny brain. Readjusted the drag alil and finally could gain alil on him. suprisingly enuff he only went around the anchor line one time which Mud pulled in. Under the boat he went and down went my lil pole. Thers a Utube video bout some feller wrastlin a monster cat an his pole bends dang near under the boat. That also came ta mind. Finally he got tard and came ta terms with me. He just kinda coasted up an parked his lil head in Mud's (teeny) net. (note to self, getta bigger net) He just kinda behaved the rest of the night. He just kinda hung out under the boat while we's fishin till we got ready ta go. we hadda few more hits but nuttin got hooked. So I broke my personal best when we finally got him weighed at 32 pounds. Mud broke his personal flathead best earlier this month with a 9 pound 12 once flathead. Fishin from the bank at near the same area.
