If the wife hasn't thrown it away, I've got one you can try. I bought it while I was in Bogota to make smoothies with. Works pretty well, but haven't seen it in ages.

If you mean one of them things that is a handheld stick with a mixing blade on the end, I got one. I've always called it a thunderstick, LOL. I got one and use it for everything. My blender broke 5 years ago and I still haven't replaced it cause I got the thunderstick and it does everything the blender did. I like it cause I can just do what I need in a pot or bowl, without having to use the blender, then pouring stuff into the pot or bowl, or pouring hot stuff from a hot pot into a blender. Works real good

Oh, and what kinds do you girls have? Any of em better than others? I seen some with attachments and some just perty plain.
I'm thinkin just a plain chopper thing. What really got me to thinkin (after seein em on a cookin show) is I have decided I like chili with refried beans. A tater masher just ain't very great at mashing beans.

Mine's a Proctor Silex. Nothing fancy, no attachments. Easy to clean up, unplug it, hold it under the faucet add a lil soap and clean it up in a minute or so, dry it and put it away.

I used my wife's to make shaving cream. just put a little dish soap and some water in a coffee cup, then blend away. Makes lots of thick, rich foam.

Well, I got me a Hamilton beach cheapy at wallyworld tonight. gotta metal blade and a whisker thingy. directions said it mite hava chopper blade or not. Didn't. Now I feel almost compelled to cook a pot of sumpthing. Bout ready to try it onna cat's tail if he don't stop tryin to walk across the keyboard. Also gotta bag of oranges. Now that I'm home, I perty sure they're GMO oranges. Fortified with all kinds of vitamins and stuff. Got pink flesh and taste more like miniature grapefruit. Not natural at all. I'll prolly grow some sorta weird mutation. I shudda just waited till I went to the grocery store.

Even with all the orange groves in the valley in our area, we can't hardly get a decent orange anymore. They pick em too soon so they kin put em in cold storage. Yuck

I don't like Oranges I like Tangerines !!! ;D Glad ya got a blender now you can make milkshakes !! Oh and I have noticed that DQ here has their own commercial about Texas The Jingle goes DQ , thats what I like about Texas I think they are kinda hung up on themselves... They even have Texas Edition Chevy Trucks, and Several other vehicles that are " Texas Editions" Makes me wonder why there aint no WV edition, or any other state for that matter ? And what is so different about a Texas Edition ? They come with Longhorns you can attach later ?

I have several stick blenders and would not give a one of them up, though one of them really irritates me when I use it (overheats fast but can't complain because it was only $5).
I have one set aside for food. It is great for split pea soup, bean dip, potato soup, and all kinds of stuff. But one thing I learned the hard way about some of them, which doesn't make sense, is that the stick part on some of them is not high heat safe! (It was a medium priced one) I made up a big pot of soup, stuck the blender in, blended a couple of minutes, pulled it out, and the stick part had badly changed shapes!
Each one of mine is a different brand, but the Kitchen Aid is the best, strongest. Depending on what you want to use it for, a good, strong motor, and a heat safe stick is really important. I have that one cheap one that overheats (the motor) really fast. What I want is a commercial one from a restaurant supply. Would be kind of costly, but would be able to run all day long and last, and last, and last.
So, why do I have so many? . . . . . I use mine to make soap! They are terrific for that! It only takes 5 to 10 minutes to bring a batch of cold processed soap to trace with one of those things, where it would take a couple of hours or more of stirring by hand. And when I am sold out of soap and have to spend a whole day making some up, I trade off my stick blenders to rest the motors so that none of them overheats. That kitchen aid one, though, can make two or three batches before it has to rest. Those cheaper ones, I have to have 2 blenders ready so that I can trade off blenders in the same batch of soap so they don't overheat, especially if it is a soap recipe that takes awhile to trace.

Hubby told me the other day that we don't need anything else in the kitchen but I'm thinking I need one of those immersion blenders. I'd been thinking about it anyway. Made a pot of homemade apple sauce couple of weeks ago and mashed it with my potato masher. Yeah, I'm stopping off at WalMart Friday on my way home. Thinking I can sneak it in without him knowing.

If ya take it outta the box, ya mite can sneek it in. The cheap one I got has only two attachments. The other one had plastic cups an containers and who knows what all. And a big box. You'll love it. I can eat veggies with a straw now. lol
I think I can chuck it in the cordless drill for on the road mulching. ;D

I love using mine, it's just the blender with no attachments, but you can do a lot with it. Saves me dragging out other, bigger appliances like the regular blender or mixer
