or rather now, it was yesterday. Now that I'm used to hearin this computer makin noises I'll talk about my trip. Got a bunch of seeds. And some kohlrabi plants. I just had him throw em together, for a change. I got two kinds of green beans ina sack, two kinds of peas three kinds of red radishes in a sack two kinds of white radish two punkins two or three watermelons two kinds of cukes whatever kinds of cantalopes he had some leaf lettuce acorn squash zucchini japanese Diakon radish and a teeny tiny bit of okra. (not for me) I told him to just mix an match the seeds. Didnt really matter, theys all gonna get eaten anyhow. Later I'll go up an get a load of mater plants. Unless I wind up buyin a boatload at the auction, like I did last year. I waited till everyone had bout played out an was tired of seein plants, and I bought all the rest for next to nuthin. was like 23 flats of plants. I sold some an gave some away and still had lots to set out. Anyone good at runnin a hoe? ;D

Uncle Hillbilly you amaze me! You will eat a sardine but you wont eat okra! And, did you forget the cucumbers ? ! ? ! Just an FYI for you...if you need help with your zucchini, you know where I am! And the green beans too...I just realized last year that those things grow in a garden and not on a tree! I thought that they was those bean things that grow on trees...now that I know better, I am even happier, I love fresh green beans with potatoes...NO ONIONS If you should happen to grow a large pumpkin, I will need the use of one for pictures around Halloween Anyways, good luck with your garden and happy hoeing ;D

Is that the peice of equipment that has a long handle with a chopping device on the end ?It is held in your hands and you have to use manual labor to make it operate properly? Nope! don't know what it is.. hehehe Hey but I missed last years garden.. And this year I will be there for my care package so make sure you do things right.. And I have a nephew that could use a good Ho.. uhhhh I mean hoe

That is a lot of planting you are planning HB! You must have a big garden spot. Okra is my fav! You gonna give me some of that I hope! The people I bought my house from planted an ornamental cherry tree in my front yard, and it is full of fake cherries every year that you can't eat. It is really pretty when in bloom, but it boogles my mind why they didn't plant a real one.

you can just bring yer lil hinney up here an pick all the okra you want. Ya might pickle me some an you can have ALL the rest.
i was kinda lookin the garden spot over an I'm guesstimating here. Its maybe bout 50-75 across and bout 300 feet long. Used to plant the whole thing as a kid, now I just plow up whole thing cuse I can. I prolly only plant bout half of it tho.
Least nuthin is crowded.

How far is it to your house from I40 exit 80? lol We have about 7 exits here...lol. If you miss one u got all those others. I use to take 412 toward Dyersburg to go to Hayti. Are you close to that? Must be nice to have lots of space to spread out every thing.

My grandfather taught me all of his gardening tricks when I ws growing up and I could be a decent gardener. But since I'm never home on a regular basis, I couldn't devote the time needed in tending to a garden. Maybe someday when my wanderlust has died, I'll find a piece of land to grow a garden. "As I go a wandering, a napsack on my back........."
