(Trying to post a couple of times before HB comes and kicks my butt again! ) So what's going on in everyone's gardens? I have all of my alliums, herbs, eggplants, cukes, zukes, flowers, etc planted. Have only 1/3 of my maters and chiles planted out--gotta get those out by this weekend. Still have to plant melons, beans, and peas, too. Hope I can get those in this weekend, too! Everything's growing great so far but I cannot wait for the first ripe tomato!!!!!!!!

Finally got all of the rest of the chiles in over teh weekend! Now I just have to wait for the stupid weather to stop its crap so I can get the melons in and find a place for beans and peas. Cukes and zukes are popping up and looking good! Tomatoes and preciously planted chiles are looking good. Eggplants seem to be looking really good to the dang bugs. Stupid bugs. Stupid weather. Stupid lack of a few million dollars that keeps me from moving to a year-round gardening paradise!

My garden is wet and late every year. A year ago today I set out my tomaters and peppers, only to have them wiped out by heavy rain overnight. I tilled up some old ground and planted peas lettuce and radishes today.
Broke sod on some new ground today and will till it again during the week, after it has dried out some more. Will plant my maters and peppers in that ground next weekend. I grow eggplants in buckets and put the soil on the tomato ground at the end of the season.
This years big garden project is a 8' square raised bed. My grandpa passed last january and my dad want's to sell his house. Grandpa grew strawberries that his father brought up from PA in the early 1900's. As soon as I get the bed built, I'm going to go grab and root as many runners as I can get. Dad don't care much for tradition unless it has a dollar sign in front of it. I'm more like grandpa. I'll grow em because he grew em and because his daddy grew them. And if I'm lucky some day i'll have a son that will grow them too.

Not very big, maybe the biggest ones are the size of quarters. But, very very tasty.

Woodsrunner, I'm kinda like that. My folks grew a humongous garden every year. Now I break the same piece of ground, Usually only plant bout half of it tho. And nuthin is crowded. I think this year I'm gonna cover the extra in punkins.

Alright good to know your growing punkins! When you do make sure you grow one especially big enough for me to stick the baby in for his Halloween pictures For real though, I will need a good size one for me and him to carve out! ;D

I personally dont have a baby and actually I can't have kids, but my friends have lots of them ;D And I am the "adopted" aunt! The baby I am talking about is my best friends (which is Owls grandson ;D) that I am attached to, he is the cutest and sweetest little guy in the world! I do different things with him for each holiday and take pictures, sooo I need a big pumpkin. ;D And dont feel bad for mentioning it cause everyone thinks I have kids and I just tell them none that I cant return at the end of the day

cupcake don't have any babies the baby she was talking about was my grandson and she has stuck that poor baby in anything she can find. she bought a punkin last year that was big enough to put him in and we had to go to several places to find one big enough for him to fit in.that baby will either be a model one day or will have apoplexy every time he sees a camera.
