Roses- The Meaning of Each Color
Roses come in a wide range of colors. Each different color has a different meaning. It sends a silent, yet extremely important message from the sender to receiver.
Make sure you are sending the right message when you select roses for someone, else he or she will get the wrong message!
Red~Love, beauty, courage and respect
White~Purity and innocence, silence or secrecy, also reverence and humility
Pink~Appreciation,"Thank you", grace, perfect happiness, and admiration
Dark Pink~Appreciation, gratitude
Light Pink~admiration, sympathy
Yellow~Joy,gladness, friendship, delight, the promise of a new beginning
Orange~Desire, and enthusiasm
Red and White~Given together, these signify unity.
Red Rosebud~A symbol of purity and loveliness
White Rosebud~Symbolic of girlhood
Thornless Rose~Signifies "Love at first sight".

I love getting flowers of any kind. It seems the guys I date rarely if ever give me flowers. You should feel really special when he gives you flowers. Wow and especially when he remembers things like that. That is very rare. The first time I meet a man is usually just for coffee. If I think there is a connection enough to date I will see him again. There are two things a man can do on that first real date that gets my attention. One of them is give me flowers, the other is something I won't tell because then it would be out there for all to see. It is too special to me to reveal. I will say two men that I dated long term and really cared about did both of them. Yeah the dead roses weren't listed and just reminded me, the black ones weren't either. I guess we all know what it means if you get sent black ones. I was married for 20 yrs. He never gave me flowers that whole time. After I filed for divorce he sent me a big bouquet of flowers while I was at work. I almost threw them away but gave them to a good friend of mine to give to his wife. It disgusted me that it took him that long to give them to me and it was waaaaaaay too late. I actually thought about sending him black ones, but didn't want to waste my money on him.

The first couple of years hubby got me roses for Valentine. The Easter freeze killed 4 of my roses. The 2 I have up next to the front porch did good this year. I love the yellow roses. Those are the ones that got killed.

The only roses I have/had was a miniature rose bush which didn't make the freeze and heat. I have a small wild rose bush that died back during the heat but it has come back out. Those are real hardy. lol

Mommy had 32 roses when i was younger the whole hill side was so beautiful! But then one winter two of the older guys who lived in our holler got drunk and rolled down the hill over mums flowers ... She was so upset she gave up on all her pretty roses.. when she passed away 6 years ago there was a couple roses that had been over looked they were surrounded by weeds, actually bloomed. they were so pretty.. Then my stupid brother burned the weeds before I could get the roses dug up and killed them out ! I dislike my brother sometimes!!!!

That is sad. Some men really do like growing flowers. Some other don't give a flip about them.
