Ist day of March and Spring Fever has hit big time. Started off a chilly morning , in the mid 30's, but as soon as the sun came up so did the temps. Finally got the front gardens cleaned out from last fall. Luckily bulk garbage pickup will be in a couple of weeks. Compost pile is too full to add any more and I am too lazy to make another one. Seriously it was slow going for me out there but it felt so good to be outside. Hubby cut down a tree that has been bothersome for quite awhile. Burnt a brush pile we had started last fall. I walked around and saw flowers peeping thru the ground. Blueberry pods are swollen a little. My wild rose is trying to bud out. The male bluebird was singing his heart out and the peeper frogs are peeping by the thousands. Got several buttercup pods. The early blooming spring moss is covered in pods and saw a couple of open blooms. I started a to-do list for myself and got totally exhausted reading it while ago. Move some bird feeders to different locations. Walked down to the garden spots and it would take a week of weather like this for them to dry up enough for me to get out there and do any tilling. So just gonna have to be patient. I am planning on extending the north garden this year and add 4 to 5 new rows to it.

I have felt like death the last week or longer. It was warm today here too and I took Charlie outside with me and tied him up. As long as he could see me, he was fine. I loves it outside too. I put the soaker hoses on my flower beds. I hope they will still work. I have had them for ages but had them stored under the house. And I pulled some awful weeds around my driveway. They were so tall. I wish I had my lawn mower back and I would have mowed weeds and leaves today. They have a part ordered. It was heaven feeling the sun after so long. I felt so much better being out there. I hope after our bad spell next week it warms back up and stays warm.

Not quite as sore this morning. Happens every spring, just as I get older it takes longer for the sorness to leave. I just wish it would have stayed pretty a couple more days, I think I might of got some ground worked up. That wind yesterday really dried out the north garden spot. I was surprised. HB, I thought you would have enjoyed being tied up at Spydie's house.

He doesn't mind being tied. I will give you enough line to run around.
I trimmed a few bushes yesterday. That's about all I did.
Looks like your ground will get soaked again today Joyce.

Doing happy dance right now and believe me that is a sight. Heard that our local electric company gives away BIG truck loads of mulch where they have shredded limbs and trees, well I was told other day by one of the workers he would get me a load, that was well over a week ago, so while ago I called them and yep it's true they do deliver for free . So the lady took my name, phone, and address and said within a couple of days I should have a truck load of mulch ;D ;D ;D

We got loads of mulch from the tree trimmers when my parents were working on our peach tree orchard...now it is all mostly gone cause of the tornadoes that come through here in 2004.
