Last night, a friend gave us a couple of hogs from their hunting trip, already field dressed, of course. Starting this morning, hubby and a friend put up a new hog pen, cut a couple of hogs (mountain oysters, anyone?), and butchered a large boar. (Those are hogs we've raised, not wild ones.)
This was supposed to be done several times already but something always came up to put it off. It's finally getting done! Wahoo! Of course, he's still gone.
We don't have water here so he took them over to the friend's house to butcher. What is taking so long? Nevermind, don't wanna know! LOL
So... anyone want some pork? Oink! I don't even like pork for the most part.
Our mama hog is due to have some more babies before too long so we'll have plenty more to share! Plus a few more older, fattened ones we'll be butchering in a month or so. Did I mention we have plenty to share?
