I got my new chicken book today HB, I am gonna order in the spring for my chicks, was just wonderin iffin anyone raises chickens? Wonderin what is a good egg layin chicken and a good eatin chicken? and can I put my chickens & my turkeys in the same coop or do i need seperate ones? all we had when i was growin up was brown chickens. no clue what kind they were, and no turkeys.

Snow flake If you get what they call red rocks or the bared rock chicken both will lay good and get big enough to eat. I would some of both if it were me I think the red rock lays better the Bard rock check your book.
Do NOT put turkeys in the same pen as babys .The turkeys have to be kept very dry or they will die till they get all there feathers. I hope this helps if you need to know more just let me know.

So turkeys are featherless? Did not know that we only had chickens and guinies. And they were already chickens not chicks. So this means I have to make 2 incubatrs. good to know this.
