Pretty sure this is my first layer. She's a local gal. After I got done carting 4 hens 900 miles I find one right here in town better'n them. She's a peach. She lets me pet her, and pick her up and let her out. She follows right along, not to far away. Black Banty Silkie, P. Patty. She's kinda funny lookin' but I'm not sure if thats because shes a cochin mix, a banty, or just featherless! She is JUST as soft as she looks, is submissive... I would like to say she likes being petted, but it was pointed out to me recently, perhaps she thinks I'm 'the rooster'.... Not going there. She likes to be petted. She feels just as soft as she looks. She likes to be petted.

Well, I'm learnin'. She was a single when I bought her. I have to get my chicks about 20 miles away, since we are so Cityfied, there are only two feed shops within 40 miles, and the one nearest to me, I don't speak the language, and they don't stock live animals. Lots of adverts and polaroids but mostly for fighting cocks and linage. Nope, no roosters allowed, so you can just keep your pix in your pockets...
The 'other' place turns over stock pretty fast, but carries a LOT. Peacock pairs, white and regular, doves, pigeons, and lots of chix. Ducks too. Every time I go in there, they've moved folks around. No, I thought she was a frizzle for while, since I'm still learnin about chix. She is a total sweety. She really does respond like a pet, so right now, I'm treatin' her like one. She has been out of the pen four of the last five days. Gotta watch that young cat though, she LIKES huntin' bird. Found three dead bodies so far, just not one in my bed.
You oughta see the feathers swirl when the garage door goes up. I nearly crapped, I couldn't see just 'how' they were swirling around the Harley, and didn't know just WHAT type of mess I had to clean up while DH was out of town... His damn cat though, not sure why 'I' would need to bother with cleaning... No 'bitches' round here! (I keep muttering to myself...)
Yes, HN, she is a total love. I'm gettin attached already. Convinced we would never eat her. Not sure how to present a black skinned chicken, anyway. Saves with that problem.
