Hmm, I think that mite be their new names. Bacon and Porkchop. lol
They're weanin age and prolly bout 35 pounds giver take. Im buyin one for Barnwoodjim an one for me. He's supplying half the feed an helpin me butcher when the time comes. I'll take pics after I pick them up next week. I got em from an Amish friend. Whom I'm fryin fish for next monday night an havin supper with em. Good folks they are.
Im gonna havta get me a bigger freezer. lol

I'm jealous. You know the little devils will root like crazy. Ya better put some rings in the noses to keep from doing that.

Hill,if you know of any dairy-farmers and can get some colustrum milk from them, thats puts weight on pigs fast. The pigs love it,all natural and the meat tastes better. I use to do that with a farmer, and I gave him a pig,he would give me 250 gallons a day,the pigs would line up waiting for me to get it to them.

250 gallon a day...... That's alot of colostrum. Just my thinking I ain't for sure just seems like to much of that would give them diarrhea

Cute lil piggies...can't wait to see pics of them. I just know I would end up making pets out of them. I love pork, but I don't think I could raise them and then butcher them. I am a countrified gal, just not a farm gal.

That wouldn't bother me. We raised hogs when I was at home. Once they get grown that ain't that cute. I been thinking about checking with the Mennonites that live up around Paris. They actually have a meat processing place where you can either go buy their meat already fixed or you can carry your own and have them process it. I'm thinking it might be cheaper and definitely easier to go and buy some beef and pork already packaged up. Talked with a man that went up there and bought $500.00 worth of beef. He got home and it filled an entire upright freezer he said. Now that's alot of beef.
