Its not just me. OMG, watch this. Then if that isn't bad enough, read all the comments from folks that used to work in hotels. Even at expensive hotels too. www.snotr.com/video/662And to think I have used coffee pots in hotels before! If I ever stay at another one I will take bleach mix in spray bottle and clean everything I use there. Coffee pot cleaned in a toilet...think about it!! I already knew about the blankets and bedspread. I just pray that the sheets have been changed!!

I only remember plastic drinking cups in the places I have stayed at. But that is the most disgusting thing I have heard of. Cleaning the commodes and then washing the glasses. ewwwwwwwwww

Thats nasty!!!!!! We stayed at the Embassy Suites in KC for a company Christmas party about 8 years ago. The whole place was just beautiful. I cant believe this. Just terrible. For what they charge a night they can certanly afford to clean things better, hell they could make EVERYTHING disposable & still make profit.

Every motel I have stayed in always have the glasses, plastic or glass, sealed in plastic or platic covers. They are sealed to. This includes top hotels and the cut raters. Or am I just lucky.

One of the comments under the video...
I was a chambermaid at expensive summer resorts when I was a teenager--- as were a number of my friends. You don't know the half of it, my dears. I found all sorts of nasty things left behind-- battery-operated stuff, used condoms, ropes from someone being tied up in a closet. I remember watching a South American girl showing her buddies how to speed up the cleaning-- spray cleaner everywhere, using the toilet brush to swab the toilet and seat, the bathtub and shower walls and handles, the sink and its handles. Then taking the used towels to polish off all the water. And polishing the glasses and putting new paper wrappers on them. The same towels were used to polish the floor. A strip of paper that declares Sanitized For Your Protection. The coverlets and mattress covers are not changed often. Maybe once a month if you're lucky. The walls are rarely wiped down. I know we gals never had time to do that. God knows what has been splashed on there. The curtains were cleaned once a year. The plastic shower curtains were supposed to be changed once a month. But we never did that. No time. This was a fancy expensive resort. Even now, celebrities stay there. The maids have to clean a lot of rooms in a day- how clean can they make a room in under 30 minutes? So bring a chlorine solution with you. Clean the phone, handles, TV remote. First thing, turn down the coverlet/bedspread so you don't lie on it. Don't touch the blanket, ever. Make sure the sheets have been changed. Don't walk barefoot on the carpet or tiles. Only use disposable cups.
Another one...
Be advised that most limousine services clean their glassware the same way as is done in the hotels..while guests (clients) are partying etc.the limo drivers take the dirty and used glassware for drinks and clean them with a window cleaner usually Windex, wipe them with a towel, and replace them in the passenger compartment to be reused later in the evening..I know as I was a limo driver in the past...this practice is used by many...
Another one...
I am on the road 95% of the year and basically live in hotels - this is not the half of it! One time I walked back to my room because I forgot something and the housekeeper was there cleaning the bath room.
She had cleaner in the toilet and was swishing the coffee pot around in the water - to clean it!
The rubber glove issue is common - they use harsh chemicals to clean. They are instructed to wear them to protect themselves from injuries - but never told to take them off when not using them!
Don't even look in the air conditioners - they are suppost to be on a three month cleaning cycle - most never get the cleaning until they break down. Mold, dust, insects, and just about anything else you can imagine!
Carry antibiotic wipes, wipe everything down, spray the floors with at least Lysol, never ever lie on the comforter, and carry your own glasses!
Like I said before, I will take Lysol and bleach mix if I ever stay at one again. These were high dollar hotels that this happened. Imagine the cheaper ones... I am afraid to even think how it could get any worse!!!!!!!!! Is it because of the illegals working there or what?! Maybe they all do that in Mexico. You always hear about folks getting sick when they go there. I Will take paper cups with me and maybe a sippy cup with a lid too. Never again will I use a glass there, even if its in a wrapper. Don't you think they can wrap a dirty glass? The man said any pathogenes could be on there. You could get herpes, hep C, Ecoli, Salmonella, mono, even fleshing eating virus!!!!!!!!!! He said its like going to a restaurant and them wiping off the last persons plate with a rag in his pocket and setting it down in front of you!! I think the glasses are worse than that tho. I am going to see if I can find the other video they made about it. She said they would be checking more hotels. I don't want to see it, but I must know!!!

When I go into a motel, I check the bathroom out first, if the toliet and around the toliet is not sparkling , I am out of there. I can't handle that at all. if that passes, I check the tub, sink , mirror and even light fixtures.. I take sanitizers with me and wipe down everything , even if it appears to be sparkling clean. I have a thing about crawling in a bed in a motel too and used to bring my own blankets but sometimes you can't do that.

My last job was as a maid in a local motel for 5 yrs, thats one of the roughest jobs around. Most motels are understaffed as far as maids, and under paid for the work they do. I know in ours the asst manager went to each and every room after the maids were done to make sure it was clean before it was ready to be occupied. Coffee pots were washed in a sink on the 2nd floor, bedspreads, blankets, and mattress pads were changed out at least 4 times a yr when we had our slow seasons. Air filters were checked ever time a room was cleaned. Guess ours was above standard since we got 3-4 stars every yr at inspection time.
