I wrote this on Catfishin Fever an thought I'd post it here to share.

Ahhhhh, The night life!!
As I posted on another thread, I fish mostly at night. And mostly the same spot. Least whenever the lake depth allows me to. Granted, I dont take any monster fish outta there nor, ever plan to. But I usually catch enuff for a meal. And thats all I could ever ask for.
But the benefits of fishing the same area almost every night, I gain alot in knowedge an am rewarded with solitude. Tho I've never shined a fish finder on the area, I know just bout every nook an cranny. I think I could draw a map of the bottom with out ever having seeing it. And I know where the underwater highway is that they take, commin in onto the flat to get the baitfish.
I feel confident in being perty sure of knowing whether I will be able to catch fish or really having to work at it, when I step outta my truck. Are the fish active, are the baitfish active? Is the wind blowing, From what direction. Is the moon out. How willing am I to really work to get a fish tonight? Do I care? lol
If there aint many signs in my favor, I can usually still catch a fish. Its just alot harder. Keep fresh bait on at all times. And keep hooks in different depths, covering as big a range as possible.
If I dont care, I just bait up an toss em out an settle in my chair for a nap.
If the signs are right an the fish /bait are active, it dont matter near as much. Just get the bait out there an wait. Better start a pot of coffee on, cuz it mite be a long night. Nuthin beats sittin a listening to the sounds of the baitfish jumpin an then ya hear the big fish zeroing in on them. An yeah you can hear em makin their rounds following the baitfish. Big splashs, big kerplunks. Takes alil over an hour for them to make their rounds. Least where I fish, it does. Workin the banks an the shallows for shad/perch, etc.
Then bout an hour fore sun up, the skeeters come back out for an early mornin feed. The fishin becomes not much fun anymore. Time to head home an dress what ya got.
Just thought I'd share what an typical night fishin is for me.
Tip: The red LED's on yer headlights dont attract bugs like flash lights, or the white lights do.
