For those who don't know I am the Cubmaster for our local cubscout pack in Lowry City Mo.
February 22nd is our annual Blue and Gold banquet which is when we celebrate the birthday of cubscouts each year.
This years theme has been decided to be a hillbilly jamboree.
For decorations so far we have come up with a stuffed pig turning on a spit and a cardboard outhouse for a backdrop.
I'm asking if anyone can come up with some age appropriate decorating ideas which we could incorporate into our party.
Any help will be very greatly appreciated.

WELL back home hillbillies are associated with shine, maybe some 2 litres of mountain dew for grandpa jones song good old mountain dew . HillBilly what would a hillbilly have around his house? LOL OH!!! Dont forget the music! a washtub base would be a good one, or an old washboard ! could have a jug band. teach the boys a simple tune ....

You could spread hay around and make cardboard fences. Bales of hay make good places to sit. Make a place to play horseshoes.

Ya, a jug band. Specialy if anyone 's got some old stoneware jugs. Lotsa bib overalls. And be a good time for them boys to wear them olg jeans iwth all the holes in em. Watch some reruns of heehaw for dressin ideas. Floppy hats, the floppier the better. Sears catalog for the outhouse. Grease pencil to blacken out a few teeth. Or take out yer dentures for you old folks. corncob pipes (easy to make) Wheat straws to chew on.
I'll think of some more. ;D

Goats!!! All hillbillies need goats! I goat extra!! LoL Just kiddin. Jeremiah has a metal oval wash tub we used for the goldfish craft fair day. Mabe he let u borrow it and bob for apples or somethin?

straw hats,
have someone draw a pic of a hound dog on poster paper,
bales of hay,
if any one has possums, squirrel, stuffed animals such as that, for loan to use as decorations,
banner that says, Welcome to Hicksville.
Dukes of Hazzard...if you could find some of these things at the store
