All drugs containing phenylpropanolamine are being recalled. This ingredient is found in over the counter for weight loss & cold medicines. Several Trimaminic,alka-seltzer,& dimatapp products. You can call Triaminic at 800-548-3708 for a refund. You can access the entire recall list at www.fda.gov/cder/drug/infopage/ppa/ These medicines are causing hemorrhagic stroke(brain bleeding),stokes & seizures.

Most if not all of the products listed above which formerly contained phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride have been reformulated to eliminate the ingredient. urbanlegends.about.com/library/blppa.htmBut its good you put this here. Someone might have some outdated meds and still use them.

Thanks spyder. I had just recieved the email yesterday but hadnt heard about it before then. Just wanted every one to be aware & careful as most of these meds are used most this time of year.

THAT IS WHY ALL THIS MEDICINE DON'T WORK LIKE IT USE TOO ! MY DAUGHTER IS GOING COLLAGE FOR MEDICAL OFFICE ASSITANT AND THEY TOLD HER THE OTHER DAY THAT SHE SHOULD NOT EAT " TUMS" ALWAYS "ROLAIDS' CAUSE THE TUMS HAVE ALUMINUM IN THEM AND ROLAIDS DON'T, BUT I REALLY DON'T WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT THAT CAUSE HUBBY HAS BEEN EATING TUMS BY THE TRUCK LOAD FOR YEARS AND HE IS OK( WELL AS OK AS A MAN CAN BE LOL)

I worked in an aluminum factory for 16 yrs. There was always aluminum fines floating in the air from the burnishers and from brushing the bars before pointing them. They tested the air every yr and of course they said it was below TOSHA levels. Funny when I asked them about putting extra air vents with fans over the heat treat furnaces,(because it was so hot in the summer time) they said they couldn't do that because of environmental regulations. HMMMMM? Two alloys, 2011 and 6262 had lead in them!! No wonder I have CRS so bad!
