This sounds a lil strange>>>>
Venison Leftover
leftover steak or roast cut into bite-size pieces onions or small green onions butter a little hot black coffee salt and pepper to taste a little flour hot biscuits.
Refrigerate leftover steak or roast. In the morning, cut into bite-size pieces. Chop some onions (if you have some small green onions, use the tops also). Melt some butter in a frying pan and saute the onion until tender. Add the diced venison and stir for a few minutes. Add a little hot black coffee and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle in a little flour very, very slowly, stirring constantly, until you get gravy the way you like it. Add more coffee if necessary. Serve over hot biscuits.

Those do sound like some diffrent ways to fix deer, I'll have to check with barnwood, and see what he thinks, before I try them on him.

The coffee in gravy is known as 'redeye' gravy. Usually made for breakfast ham steaks. I think it pretty much gives the gravy color, but I've never eaten redeye, so I can't comment on taste.
I would think theres an easier way...

Forgot to say, not much venison down to the Vons/Albertsons. But it reminds of the year my Mom MAILED me in a cooler, elk steaks, stuffed mushrooms, and double baked potatoes for my anniversary...
Did I mention my mom is a little strange? Since Joe died, she's decided she likes to cook, and her husband hunts.

Some company will mail order you steaks? Well, they will, and they use a thick, styro mailer cooler. It looks a lot like an igloo, rounded corners and such. She packed everything in that, and added dry ice. She spent a lot of time talking to the Post Office, and they still screwed up. It was supposed to be delivered to the front door but they STUFFED it into a drop box. We lived in a condo, our mail was delivered to individual boxes and smaller (?) boxes were put into a four unit whose keys were left in with your mail. We were bad people who didn't always check our mail every single day, since it was a ways away...
Other than that, just like any gift package sent through the mail.
I did mention, my mom is nuts?

Um, she took up drinkin for a spell, then, ah, found the Lord. She spends a LOT of time in church these days, can you imagine???
It works for her. Once you get through all the pix you will see why she is too busy to spend time on line. I thought, once I got her on line, we could keep closer in touch before she got straightened out, and she did NOT take to the computer world.
The doves and pigeons she provides for herpetology folks round town, a vet who keeps snakes and schedules appointments for 'feeding viewing'. He has an albino python that rivals the one in the San Diego zoo. She has some hawk folk she provides 'meals on wheels' for. And she breeds and fusses about with the rest of the stock, also.
She has Love Birds, canaries, and sometimes a house rabbit or 6, along with the lizard and various strays from the church...

This really does sound yummie to me. Esp. us coffee addicts. All the recipes sound good. HB, you gonna get a deer this year? If ya do, bring me some. There were times when I was married, if he hadn't hunted and brought home wild meat, we would have about starved. For a long time I wouldn't eat wild meat because I had to eat so much at that time. Now it would be nice to have some again.
