Did not know where to post this so here you go.
I have a 94 Ford taurus with 136 thousand miles.. The transmission is rough shifting, I suppose it is slipping cause the transmission fluid is full and pink. I have notice a rattle underneath took it to a muffler specialist who said nothing was loose , could be rusting out or that catalytic converter ( some specialist) Also I smell gas . I will be driving 290 miles one way in a week or so to Southern IL. ( if you have ever been to southern IL you will understand my fear) Any way, I am limited on funds( story of my life LOL) So should I chance driving the car or rent a vehicle? Hilly and Pal and My Home can verify that I am a jinx when it comes to cars LOL

There are no buses, cabs, trains or planes where I am headed. Nearest bus station is in Evansville Indiana 54 miles away. Lord, I just love it. ~evilness creeping up~

I would rent one. then if it breaks down, they fix it and/or get you another one. I rented one when I went out to Squirrels place. They gave me one that looked like a unmarked patrol car an i just put my red cap on the dash. Had cops wave at me all the way there and back.

And I think that maybe that is what Owls son needs to do since he seems to have bad luck with cars and could kill a horse, that way they have to fix the repairs!

I think I will rent one.. Oh, I hope they give me a cop car. I would pretend to be an undercover agent and scare them to death on the highway. Of course, good way to land in jail, impersonating an officer.

I agree with Cupcake,I dont doubt for a sec that hb didnt do it I bet that would have been a fun trip Oh and I even bought Owls son the local paper to see if there were any horse and buggies for sale in it and for some reason he was not to happy with me at the time

WELL MAMAFROG IF MY SON BOUGHT A HORSE AND BUGGY HIS HORSE WOULD PROBABLY GO LAME AND THE BUGGY WOULD PROBABLY FALL APART I WAS THINKING MAYBE HE NEEDS A TANK OR SOMETHING REAL HEAVY DUTY BUT I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS HEAVY ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND HIS DRIVING. WHAT HE NEEDS IS A GOOD DOSE OF BETTER LUCK BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO GET THAT FROM EITHER.

Owl, I have the same luck with cars. People laugh and make a joke that I am jinx with vehicles . I am cautious when I drive. I check and change the fluids but for some unknown reason they are always breaking down.. ~sighS~

People tell him the same thing Lilith...and his dad always tells him it is his fault but 'knock on wood' he has been driving my car for a while and the only problems I have had are the minor ones that need fixed with maintenance...
