Only two came up from the seeds I planted. Gave my dad some, but he's higher up, so his stuff tends to come up later than mine. Gave my son the rest, but don't know how his are doing.

Sunflowers that I sent to some of you will get many side shoots with as many as 20 flowers on each plant. With all this rain and wind a tall sunflower has a tendensy to fall over with the wet ground. Tie the stock to a tomato post if you want to have a secure pretty flower all summer! I had one fall over and many that I have tied are 7 foot tall with many flowers opening every day. A few years ago I had 42 flowers on a 14 foot plant! Hope you are seeing all those pretty birds o the flowers even humming birds!

I think ours aren't doing so well because of our drought, even with the hand watering, only 4 came up so far. Mebbe the altitude too has somethin to do with it.

Rabbits love new sunflowers. Maybe they were gone as soon as they came up. Plant them in a container then transplant when they are about 6 inches tall!
