Packing for warmth means building in layers Winter camping poses issues that summer camping doesn't. While you won't be coping with mosquitoes, you'll need to withstand the cold and be prepared to survive extreme temperatures. Before Heading into the Snow Make sure all electronic devices are fully charged Leave your itinerary with family, friends or park officials Get local weather forecasts for the period you plan to camp / hike www.nomadik.com/checklists/winter-camping.aspxAlright who's game fer a lil winter camping??

I would like to do it again. It has been years since I did any.I do not think that I would do any extreme winter camping like I trained for in the service unless there was a very good reason for it..I love camping . Around here it is hard to find a place to camp that isn't in a campground

Gonecat, Meybe ya orta check with some farmers that have wooded areas. I know I have just bout as much fun campin on the north forty. Dont cost nuttin an I am sure there aint gonna be no other folks botherin me. well, thats what I used ta do. I aint been campin inna few years. Cuz well, I fish all night. Sayin I was gonna camp would be just foolin myself. I have been known to doze off in the chair in front of the fire, waitin for a bite. still I would check with some farmers if ya wanted peace an quiet camping. Heck, offer em some fish in return for a weekend.

The invites sound like fun, Snowflake...
Farmers around here has stopped letting people on their land because of what the mud runners and 4-wheelers have done.....Used to be able to camp just about anywhere but not anymore..

I know we sposeta share our blessins an whatnot,BUT, when it comes ta campin spots on private property, an this goes fer fishin there too; yer better off if ya can keep yer mouth shut! Th good friend that YOU tell bout what a great place ya found may not be able ta keep from tellin bout it at church, or in th bar, or at his kid's ballbame. Once somethin like that is discovered, ya got no say in what happens an 9 times outa 10 ya wind up with a perty unhappy host! It all boils down ta th "entitlement attitude" that is so prevalent these days. Ask Hilly bout lettin a chosen few hunt on his place. He picked em fer all th right reasons, but they always got buddies, seems like!
