i never cease to be amazed at the things ya find on the internet....i was lookin' for a piece of "gone fishin'" clip art and i'll be dadgummed if i didn't find one of the more interestin' things to ponder that i've come across....

i figure it's the ultimate "gone fishin'" notice.....

they will personalize/engrave 3 lines for a fee...i'd definitely opt for my PB info, weight, date caught, and where it was caught, which would leave no room for personal data......gotta' have priorities, you know.....

an' in lookin' at it, maybe it's just me or the angle of the photo, but the side looks like this thing has been rollin' around in the back of my truck with my fishin' gear an' stuff for a couple a fishin' seasons, which somehow just makes it seem all the more fitting........

my dilemma is that i love canoein' about as much as fishin', but in a different way....i catch a whole buncha' peace and serenity floatin' down a river or creek, so the choice would be difficult........



just somethin' to ponder...........an' by the way, i ain't got any plans on needin' anything like this for a long, long, long time.....

p.s. i figure y'all, bein' my forum family, understand by now that i don't take life or myself as seriously as i probably should.....but i know that some folks get uncomfortable thinkin' and talkin' 'bout the natural conclusion to our time here, so my apologies if this made anyone uncomfortable.....certainly wasn't my intent......

Kinda neat. Hadn give a lotta thought ta emblems. I gess I'm kinduva hack carpenter, an I have thought it'd be neat ta bild my own coffin; Ya know, a little barnwood, a few pieces of walnut, oak, an cedar sorta patterned in. An yesterdy I emptied my water bed fer th last time. Mebbe I could sorta fold it up an put a little water in it. Maybe line th inside with dried catfish hide er somethin!

I like it! But then I dont figger I need a box for my remains. Just scatter me on the farm. Er sumplace handy. Even the lake, creek., heck I dont care really an prolly wont when the time comes.

A fruit jar can hold me till I get scattered.

I have been thinking of a good piece of pvc pipe, cat the ends and stick me in a hole, should last a long time, got to check the laws though before it could happen. My bud said he will dig the hole and stick me in it if I go before him and vice a versa if he goes first. Pooh on the big furneral, it's that much more I leave to my kid.

hey sink....always wanted just a plain simple pine box myself...wish i'da known ya then, i coulda' hired ya to make a custom box for me and had a nice coffee table till it was needed......but i've decided i wanted to be cremated.....

when i was thinkin' on a funeral with that pine box, i wanted everyone who came to bring one of those "i'd rather be......" bumper stickers that were so popular...

an as folks passed by, i wanted 'em to slap on that pine box whatever "i'd rather be" sticker they'd brought...figured i'd rather be doin anythin' other'n layin' there dead........

changed my thinkin' along the line and decided it really ain't gonna' matter at that point what happens to what's left......an i'm gonna be okay with whatever i'm doin' after it's over here.......

so i have instructed my son to get one of the name brand (rather than generic) coffee cans from under my sink to have 'em put my remains in.....seal the top with caulk or duct tape, so no one tries to make coffee outta' what's left of me.......either take the can to kentucky and bury me along side all my old dead relatives or scatter me in some water anywhere there is enough water to fish or float........

Snowflake....ya know those nice pieces of wood ya mentioned not knowin' what to do with (up in the wood craft thread)....well here ya go.....dimensions are listed at the website....the urns ain't very big......6 3/4" D X 9" W X 6 3/4" H......

and to tell ya the truth, when i saw these, i thought maybe Buzzard might wanna' think of makin' some for her dad to take to the next lion's club fund raiser.....burn the lion's club logo into 'em or somethin'......they might get a kick outta' 'em...i know the guys in our local lion's club would find some humor, as well as see the practicality, in 'em........

Papa, I think you got th best idee yet. Piece of 20"pvc pipe -cap one end- hopefully they'll wait til I quit breathin; then cram me in - cap th other end ! No fuss - no friggin fire! Wouldn even need pallbearers! Just roll me outa th pickup an cross th cemetery an rite in th hole. Gess I could think "green" an include a standpipe with a valve so they could draw off th methane. I can see th inscription now..........
