I just watched a really cool show on multi million dollar cabins and saw something I would like to try copying. The ceiling of one of the rooms was actually a stick ceiling. IT was done in a very neat pattern. Each piece was de barked, and then put on the ceiling. I am trying to figure out what you would use to adhere the "sticks" to the ceiling. I don't want to use screws on account of cracking and I think nails would be the same result. I was thinking some type of glue product. hmmmm ...... My son and I were talking about trying it out on a small piece of plywood to see how it would hold up. Any one got an idea on this one ? I was looking for pictures of it online but couldn't come up with any... Gonna try it come march so that gives me a couple of months to think on it and design a pattern ....

When i did floral designing, sometimes we had calls for twiggy stuff. I had occasions to cover floor size vases with twiggs, berries and natural grasses. We used an epoxy mostly if it was a fresh arrangement. However for dried or silk we used a thin coat of polyurethane and then sprayed it with polyurethane to give it a glossy look. You can only do a small section at a time but that stuff dried fast and held good.

Way back when I worked at anuther job, we used a product called F-26. It had the consistency of that peanutbutter stuff they fed us in school. Cept it smelled like a petrolium based glue. I think the equivelent nowadays would be Liquid Nails. I think that would give an take as the house settled or the swellin an shrinkin caused by different humidities. I'm kinda like Miss Kitty in thinkin that ya orta seal em with polyurethane first to seal the wood. And to control the bugs.

i'd venture a guess that very few folks could study a dilemma and come up with a solution quite the same way Sinker does, huh?
