Biodiesel Processor 160-liter per day batch processor Chuck Ranum runs Triple-R Recycling in North Dakota, and makes biodiesel from waste cooking oil for himself and for the members of a small local cooperative. They use it in their vehicles, for home-heating, for farm-tractors, and they can't get enough. Chuck will produce about 2,000 gallons this year, and is planning to increase production by four times, to 160 gallons a week. journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_processor4.html

The way I see it, pretty soon if more do this, the restaurants will start charging for the used oil, and/or eventually everyone will be asking for the oil and you won't be able to get any.

True the restaurants will know they have a gold mine. But 3000 miles is more than I drove or will drive this year.

the folks that come by an pick up the oil at where I work say that they have problems with folks stealing the waste oil. They said the thiefs get as much as $160.00 for one of the oil dumpsters.
Another resaturant gives theirs to an amish feller to burn in his diesel sawmill.
So I reckon its gettin perty popluar. Even around here.

So once this gets more popular, theft will increase. And it will be like everything else, too expensive to be worth while.
