I dunno bout this myself. Used to, you were sposta add a couple aspirins to each cell to get more life outta yer battery. Only thing I know bout this is, The fellers I used ta work for doin floors. Had one of them battery operated floor scrubbers. And tried this. They did get a lil more life outta their batteries, But still hadda replace em, just the same. Batteries. Develope (sulfates?) on the plates (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and need umm shall we say, "shook up" ever so often to break up the stuff on the plates. Theres a doohicky you can buy that will do this for you. Someone like 12vman will havta help me out here. I think that doohicky mite be called a "conditioner". Other'n that, Dont let yer batteries run all the way down, Or freeze while at a low charge. This is bout the most damaging things for a battery I can think of. If you can keep the plates clean and yer battery in top condition, then you should be able to get more life time than whats reccommended for yer battery. Hope this helps more than that wine commercial. Obviously fat bastard aint worth drinkin, mite as well pour it in yer car.

Here's them thingies you're talkin' about, Hilly.. pulsetech.net/I use one on my battery. I have (4) 6 volt golf cart batteries and so far the plates look like new! I load test 'um now and then. These things do work! Puttin' wine inna battery is alcohol abuse, isn't it..? ~Don

I remember a long time ago there was some stuff you could buy at Western Auto or one of those kind of stores. You poured it in your battery and it cleaned the plates off and extended the life of your battery. I used to have a 19 ought 53 Henry J with a 4 cylinder Willys engine in it that had a 6 volt system that I used to commute to the airport. My old battery was so weak it would hardly turn the engine over. I bought some of that stuff and poured it in the battery and it sprang to life. I wish I couild remember the name of that stuff. I think it started with a "V", but really aren't sure. Guess I'll have to sacrifice a fat bastard the next time.
