That's neat. It would keep me from getting a speeding ticket for sure. It don't go very fast. Couldn't get on the interstate with that one. I couldn't even get on 45 South with it, I would be run over!! I guess its just a farm truck.

yeah thats kinda the reaction I expect from the farmers too. I think it was built with suberb folks in mind. Notice it dont have mud grips. Still gravel road from here to highway, then pavement on to town. I think it wud save alot in just average run around.

I think it is a cool truck, but I don't think one like that would work for me...When I run out of gas, cuz I wasn't payin attention, I can walk and get some and get to the station. What would I do when something like that happened on one of them?? Extension cord?

I guess you got to make sure you have an extra charged up battery with you. Just something else to remember. I try to remember so much stuff and end up not remembering anything.

I wonder how much the batteries are and how long they hold a charge.

They're probably like Golf Club Batteries: Big, A lot of Them, and Expensive. We have a Golf Cart for my 100 year old mother to drive herself around the place with and the batteries are costly. Then too, I bet that truck costs almost an arm and a leg..... probably way more than a small gasoline one. I would say it is false economy when all costs are figured in. The thing that gets me is back in 1958 I bought a new Morris Minor to commute the 45 miles to the airport. That little bugger would get over 40 mpg on the highway. I wish I had one now. Not much improvement has been made in the small cars since then, however, on pickup trucks there has been a huge improvement.

Yes it comes with batteries. And yes, they're alot like golf cart batteries. I spect if they's maintained properly, they'd last a good long while. And yer right, Sky, it does cost an arm and a leg. and for an extra leg, you can get oen with a solar panel that bolts on over the bed to help maintain the charge.
Ok, so I know it prolly aint worth the money. But the concept is good. A dadgum new golf cart is prolly two thirds the cost of this truck. Or more.
I'd really like to find an old cart chassis to rebuild an make street legal. You can buy batteries that are blemishes for less than half the full price an charge em any dang way you see fit. Whether its plug in or wind or solar or whatever.
I personally think an alternative mode of transportation would fit me fine. Having only up to five miles of runnin around at any givin day to do. I'd still have my old truck to fish with, or highway travel.
Meybe I can find one of em scooters that get bout 100 MPG, somewhere cheap. Buying one gallon of gas per month would really suck, huh? ;D

Hill, years back I had a old 45 Willys jeep. Had a little four banger engine in it that got great gas mileage. Never figured it out for sure, but for just running around town was great on gas. Bought a couple bucks of gas a week when gas was around 50 cents a gallon. Was not a four wheel drive but the two wheel drive dispatcher verison. Great little run around vehicle. Maybe you could find something like that.

I was just thinking after reading Chucky's post. In 1958, when I had the Morris Minor, gasoline was 29 9/10 a gallon and the Amoco station I filled up at most of the time gave a 2 cent a gallon discount and also washed your windshield and checked your oil and tire pressures. I felt kind of guilty driving up to the station with the Minor and saying fill 'er up and it would take about 2 gallons after an 80 something mile round trip to the airport. We sure have made some "wonderful progress" in this country, haven't we?

Sure have, Sky. Chucky, I got several good ol junkers in the back. All need a "little" work. Even got a "70" mail jeep. It needs some of that little work, as well. lol

Don't those old mail jeeps have the same four banger in them? Might be your answer right there for a cheep run around vehicle.
