Recycle those old pots !!! Whether you use brand new pots or used clay pots, this project is a very popular one! I offer full instructions with very easy to understand construction steps AND a large diagram to show you how to string together the pots. Whether little or large, a Pot Person will really give your neighbors something to talk about! Terra Cotta Pot Person Instructions: I'm going to walk you through a very popular terra cotta pot crafts project — how to make "Pot People". These garden art decorations can be as small or as large as your imagination and garden space allows. Use smaller pots for a child-size figure; larger pots for adult-sized figures. You can even make "Pot Animals www.the-artistic-garden.com/terra-cotta-pot-crafts-potpeople.html

About 6-7 years ago we made a bunch of those clay people for a display at the floral wholesalers i worked at.... At that time we got the idea from a muffler place up the street. For as long as anyome could remember he had "The Muffler Man" The muffler shop was at the end of the 31st Street bridge in Pittsburgh and i think forever this guy stood outside the shop waving at customers... He was made out of all muffler and tailpipe parts, he was really cute and i don't believe the thing ever rusted.......even with Pittsburgh winters
The pot people are easy to make and you can make them small or big.... the bigger ones are harder to keep together but the little ones can start by using 2" pots for the legs and arms bodies are a 3 or 4" depending on what you want ... it's fun to play with them .... like buildin lego men ...... with a potato head twist....... You can paint them up or leave em plain.... we gave a few some log moss for clothes and flowers for buttons or eyes... it was quite a project and fun fun fun .....

I can see what all ours would look like. They would all have fishing poles in their hands and straw hats on their heads!!
