Dont ask where I come up with titles at. lol They just appear.
on the subject of WVO, tho. I got OK'd at work to pick up the "waste veg oil" (<hence the name WVO) yesterday. What I'm doin with it? Burnin it I'm kinda plannin. It comes inna block just like lard. A fifty pound block. Then it returns to a solid barrel full. Add in burger parts, bacon, and other crunchy stuffs. Then ya got kids that leave the lid off so it catches water.
Couple weeks ago, me and one other cook was talkin bout what we could do with this stuff. Seemed whoever was pickin it up had forgot where we were located at. er, sumsuch. And all the barrels were full. We decided we could burn it in our woodstoves. He's gonna try melting it inna roastin pan on the stove an boiling off the water and dipping out the solids. Prolly what I will do as well. Solids will burn I think. Then it'd be nice to have a pipe with a fitting to drip it in the stove.
I got a site listed on here sumwhere that uses a paint can on the stove to heat up the oil then a line runnin into the stove from the can to a home made burner.
I figger we all will have plenty to experiment with this winter. I know that old fish oil burns hot and drives the cats crazy lookin for the fish they smell. Work told me I can have it as long as I want it. Meaning I can swap out barrels as often as I like.
Orta cut down on wood consumption. Just start a fire to heat up the stuff and get it dripping.
will let ya know how it goes.
