I got me a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun. ;D I think I musta been thinkin out loud around summa the kids bout a BB or pellet gun would be handy fer snakes while fishing. And lo an behold, one got me this Red Ryder. Shootin atta cardboard box requires saftey goggles, cuz they bounce right back atcha. I really dont think this will kill a snake. Prolly more'n likely just make em mad.  But the thought was good, bless their lil pea pickin hearts.  |

the pump bb guns will kill a snake. The co2 bb and pellet guns are relly powerful but not good for small kids!

I usedta have a pellet gun that would kill a snake. And carried it with me when I fished, quite a bit. Prolly havta get me another one of em. Unless I just want to make snakes mad for entertainment.

Sounds like someone was watching Christmas Story. Dontcha know you kin shoot yer eye out with a bb gun? (Least that's what the mom in the movie kept saying, LOL)

Yep, LOL, all they do is make snakes (and squirrels) mad, LOL! Mine pumps (once) but it still doesn't kill anything. And yea, you have to wear those goggles if you are shooting at a 'possum, too! No matter how close you get, it just bounces off of them and they snarl with a "knock it off!" look. (Them and the armadillos). The homeless guy I let move in for a little while once broke the site off of my BB/pellet gun... GRRRR...... (he didn't stay too long, though. He found out I was serious about the "WORK for your room" part.)
I'd like to know how effective (and easy to use) those little Snake Shot pistols are.

A 22 auto,like a cOLT wOODSMAN OR rUGER mII with rat or snake shot do great for worrysome critters like snakes and other pesky critters.
