Camping here in Oklahoma costs a fortune, now. They are charging $10 to $15 a night just for a tent site! You are lucky if you find one for $10. Add in water and electric and it is much higher. Needless to say I haven't been in a couple of years, not over night. Trailer site fees are through the roof. My cousin in PA told me that you have to RESERVE your camping spots way in advance in PA. Is it still that way? Here, you just drive out there when you want and camp.

Ya lots of them are taken months ahead! Most of the state parks you can go and have a picnic and there is no charge. They even have the running water and pavillions for free. I think they will change soon and start charging the cars coming in like alot of other states. I only went fishing about 8 times last year but will go more this year! i love the outdoors in the summer! alot f the parks have a camper area they rent out!

Our parks tried to charge by the car load, but it killed so much traffic that they had to stop. Some of our parks have a section that is reserved, but for the most part, reservations aren't allowed, it's just first come-first served. All of ours have running water and electric, but the pavilions have a charge... $40 to $50 a day. Well, we still have a couple of rustic parks with nothing there, and they are probably free.... not real safe after dark, though.
