Whales in Fish Tanks..... It just wasn't meant to be!!

You can condition (not train) a wild animal to a degree, but no matter how much you try to domesticate them, they are still a WILD ANIMAL! And they have their own wild thoughts and ideas.
Even with my owls, when they have an off day, where they appear agitated, I fully understand that on those days I need to slip their food in quickly, but gently, get out carefully and let them have their space, even the one I have had for 8 years. I mean, when they can chew through a chicken bone in nothing flat, or rip open a small animal in a few seconds, you don't want to step into their aviary with them if they are all riled up. They normally look forward to their daily scheduled (they like routine) quality time together, their head scratch, our little chat and their song. In fact, if I am in a hurry and just feed and leave for a day or two, they get so depressed that they refuse to eat! But they also have their days where they need to be left alone, they need their space. I have noticed that this especially comes with weather changes and earthquakes.
Animals detect many changes in the atmosphere that we have no clue of. And it excites and agitates them, even whales in an aquarium. There are many things that can cause their changes in behavior and routine, but most of the time it is atmospheric changes. And they should be left alone until they are calm. Looks to me like SeaWorld hasn't figured this out yet and sadly, many people are dying and/or getting injured. Either that or the monies these whales bring in is far more important to them than people's lives, which I hope isn't the case. Looks like the world lost anther good person due to a manager's stupidity. One would think that if this whale had already killed two people, and was, misbehaving on this day, that they would have shut the whale show down and given him some space. So very, very sad!
