I have started this club as there were no national scooter clubs as far as I could find. So far we have ten people in it and more are coming. There are 7 here in Fairbury and 3 in Pontiac, with the Pontiac members spreading the word over there. Never have done anything like this before so sorta slow at it, but learning as I go. Just a way for people who ride scooters to get together for rides and whatever myself and the rest of the member come up to do. The official shirts are gold with black, name on the front left, and a pic of my Honda Metropolitan scooter on the back with UNITED STATES above and SCOOTER CLUB below. I just picked up the first batch of shirts today.
The shirts are $15 each and $5.50 shipping. After we have our official shirt then you can get them in any color you would like to have. I am also getting a ball cap to go with my shirt and will end up with a jacket also for those colder mornings and days. A friend here in my home town is doing the clothing, his bussiness is called Spriritual Ink.
Eventually we are thinking towards a $5 dues per month or $50 a yr. which would give a savings of $10. I will be posting pics of my Metropolitan and also of my new scooter, which is a Yamaha Vino 125cc.
I will try to keep everyone up to date on what is happening as far as the club goes, our trips and whatever else we do. I would like to thank hilly for setting this up on his site for me, not many would do something like this. Thanks hilly, Dickie

The club seems to be doing great so far, just got the first batch of shirts printed up and have a few I have to box up and send out of state. A lot more work than I anticipated, but I think it's well worth the work, just to get a lot of scooter riders in together. Hopefully a lot of fun rides, Sundays seem to be the most of the members choice for riding and it works for me. Actually any day works for me, weather permitting, due to I'm retired. All have a nice day. There will be dues for club members also, working on that at present, want to make it very affordable but so the club can maybe have a National gathering next year and have some prizes to hand out.

Most of the motorcycle clubs that come up here from the valley do their runs on Sunday papa, spect it's cause the rest of the week they're busy, and also because we have so many things usually going on on the weekends during spring/summer.

Went over to Pontiac on Wed and took the written test for the scooter, my bud told me to study really hard cause is was a really hard test, hahaha, he had to take it twice, I thought if was the easiest test I have ever taken, scored 100 on it. I didn't get to take the riding part yet do to it being wet and they only let you ride the course when it's dry, which is fine for me, use to ride in all kinds of weather on the motorcycles, but am older and a fair weather rider now. I may go over Mon. and take the ridin part.

Went over to Pontiac today on the scooter to deliver 3 more shirts, one for an old friend and was going to see her brother and his wife. Sad Sad news, he is in the hosp dying of cancer, her has a brain tumor about the size of a baseball, very old and good friend. Sorta took the fun out of the ride today. Got a little sprinkle but not enough to matter, thank God for that. Had another guy say he wants to join, just have to wait for the shirt money to show up. Got one that thinks the club isn't a good idea in his opinion, but I think it is a great idea, get to meet a lot of good folk from all over, like I have on here. Have a good night all, time for me to lay em down.

This is where I have been posting also, it's the scooter forum. Seems like people think that $5 a month is way to much for dues, I just posted and answer on there if anybody wants to check it out. I think I may have taken care of the problem, but not sure. www.urbanscootin.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14016

I don't think $5/mo is too much for dues. Lots of clubs of all kinds charge a lot more than that.
