I love peas & just ate a whole can. I did find out that if you tend to have gout or kidney stones watch them since they are loaded with uric acid! The pea is a great health food! +++ healthfood-guide.com/peas.aspx

Some times I will eat them right out of the can unheated. I also will do the same with greenbeans, greens and most anything which is canned and doesn't really need to be "cooked".

I quit eating canned veggies, too high in sodium. I get either the fresh or frozen, lot of times I get the C&W brand, not as expensive as say the Bird's Eye and they have the young peas and corn which I love. My doctor was the one that got me looking at the cans on the sodium content, because I have to limit my salt intake. Boy, when I looked, I bout fell over! Once you've made the change, you can sure tell when someone gives you the canned. When I'm gonna make a green salad, I'll take a handful of frozen peas and throw it in. By the time I take the salad out of the fridge to eat it, the peas are unthawed and taste almost like the fresh.

Ya the frozen actually taste better! They had the birds eye for 41 a bag and they were good. You can eat a few and freeze the rest!
