I expressed an interest in radio control airplanes. I had a friend bought me one. Excited to give it a try.

It is an Electric fly. There are some of the guys in Hubbys club that fly these planes. If you take your state and look up AMA plane feilds you might get lucky to find one that will teach you how to fly. Unless your friend knows how to fly. Hubby's planes are all Nitro planes. He is curently bouilding one now it is coming along really good. Might have to post some of his pics. Me I want a Sopwith Pup Electric fly plane. So when I get one then I will learn to fly. Another good thing to invest in is a flying game for the computer. That way you can learn to use the control and wont crash your plane. ( better to crash on the computer and hit reset than to crash and be out a coupla hundred ) Or like some of the big boys a coupla thousand ! www.towerhobbies.com/products/realflight/gpmz4450.html

dsmith, Have fun with your new plane!
SF, Maybe if you're good all year, Santa will put you on the good girl/nice list and get ya one...
Those would probably be fun to play with. I've seen some guys out with those before and they looked like they were havin' a good time.

That's sweet snowflake. I hope you get it someday. I've had a lot of people tell me if I like it, it could get expensive. We do have a place out here by a lake, where people go to fly them. I do like to watch them, it will be fun to have my own. We have a LOT of space around our house to fly it. We live close to an air base. I assume the radio frecency won't disturb them. Some things aren't allowed. But I figure it would be so small that it'd be ok. We have a field with no power lines or anything. I'm gonna put it together and charge it today. Hopefully give it a try this afternoon. I'll let ya know how it goes.

I believe it should have a different frequency. I would have to ask Hubby. I know that all they guys are going to a new transmitter to where it doesn't interfere with anyone elses plane. Your transmitter is "Married" to your recievers in the plane. Right now he has the original one that come with the planes. The new ones you can use the same controler and "marry 8-10 planes"

GRRRRRRRRRRR Was gonna have it all put together and charged when my husband and grandkids get here, we were gonna enjoy it. There are some pieces missing. It's funny, because the first box we picked up was kinda beat up, so we wanted a different one. Should have stuck with the first one. Anyway, hopefully we will make it to town tonight to exchange it. Then My husband and I can put it together. It'd probably be more fun with him then by myself anyway.
