Strangest thing. My wife saw one of those things down at the pond a few years back. She came home and swore to me she saw a 60 pound rat on stilts. A moose rat she called it. Had no idea what she was talking about, till I saw one on discovery, then got some pics on google and showed her. They aren't supposed tp be wild in South Carolina, but...

There was a farm in SC a while back that had them , there was really no fence around them so maybe some escaped....

It was down below Conway SC. It has been 12 years of more since I was there . It was a little hole in the wall petting zoo. with a few exotic animals thrown in....
