Finally got skunked last night. Unless ya count the shad. 8 jugs and a couple poles. I blame it on the full moon. I never have good luck onna full moon. But was a nice night out.

Somewhere I read that on a full moon your suppose to fish about a foot below a bobber, that way the fish can see it floating above them and will bite. Haven't gotten to try it as of yet, just read it somewhere yesterday. Now if I can only remember it until the next full moon, and that's gonna be a job.

Went by myself tonight. Remembered that Joe's serves Chinese food on Fridays, So I gotta wild hair to go there and then go eat at the lake. I didn't get skunked this time, beins I was fishing alone. But I had the dangest luck. Lost the whole rigging off my bestest pole, right off the bat. Then I lost a sinker off it. Was poorly equipped so I used a sparkplug for a sinker. (not one outta the engine) Lost three hooks altogether. I ain't lost a hook since last year. Then lost a bobber and hook off a pole. Tossed the throw net and got it back. ( I got reflective tape on it and hated to lose it)
After all that crap happening, I got three gar and a lil channel cat prolly bout two pounds. I didn't think he orta have the same bad luck I was having and finally turned him loose.

As for losin' all your stuff...amazin' how that works huh?...go weeks/months never losin' anythin' and then bam! one fishin' trip, ya lose an amazing amount of stuff....had a few times like that myself.........
Hope ya catch a really big one next time......

Good thing I carry spark plugs in my tackle box. Folks wont take a spark plug where they will take yer last sinker. A plug just happens to weight bout the same as a 2 ounce sinker.

cheaper than buyin' 'em...bought some 2 ozers. recently and it was somewhere around $4 for 4 of 'em.....mentioned that tidbit about spark plugs = weights to a friend and he told me i can have all the spark plugs i want/need since he saves 'em when he changes 'em...apparently he has a bucket full of 'em....buck a piece compared to free? i'll be gettin' some from him soon......
