Cat Cafés are popular & rather common in Japan - where people pay by the hour to hang out with cats since most apartments/condos in the Tokyo area don't allow pets.
HB, it's too bad you don't live closer to KC. You could open one of these cafés to cater to the big city dwellers living in pet-free environments and have your cats be earning a living for you...
Wait! Wait! Brainstorm! Tell your boss this is the newest thing in dining experiences! Maybe your boss would consider putting your cats on the payroll since y'all have so many cijots come through, many of whom are probably pet-free...
The cats could wear cat sized cutesy tee shirts like y'all have (the ones with the surf-board or whatever it is <<--questioned since it looks like something else much more than a surf-board) and your boss could write everything about them off if he used 'em in advertisement campaigns...Not only would the cats be paid, your feed bill at home would go down considerably, since they could forage in the trash cans as they worked their shift....
