Me and Sparky and Doormat got a wild hair and grabbed the pack, sleepin bag and took advantage of a warm winter day/night.
Had taken along a pea-shooter in the narrow chance of scoring a bunny or squirrel. Nuttin. So good thing I had lotsa crackers an cheese which Sparky and Doormat liked. Doormat really wanted summa the Cream of chicken soup I had. Mixed that with some brown rice, Made a decent meal. For dessert I fixed one of Kenneth Kram's famous cinnamon ash cakes. (he's a utube celebrity) I had mixed a batch of the powdered mix at home. Just pour out what ya think ya need and add water to make a doughy patty. Cooked it in the fry pan from a mess kit. Kenneth cooked his in the ashes. I'm not that hardcore. ....... Did my boiling and rice/soup fixing, in a pineapple can on a pop can alcohol stove. The pineapple lid even fit my coffee cup. Kept the dirt and dog hairs outta my tea.
Seen a shooting star from under a big ole tree. So musta been a bright one. Heard coons and deer and coyotes. Found out one thing, I'm gonna havta get one of them little pads to sleep on. Wasn't enuff leaves to pile up to make any padding. I had gotten a new sleeping bag that was sposta be rated at 10 degrees. I spose it mite, I dunno. I do know that Sparky and Doormat really liked it. And suggested I let them in it. Not only are they bed hogs, they're bag hogs as well.
If I'm gonna do that again anytime soon, I'm really gonna havta lighten the load. Or find someone else to carry my pack. lol Probably just need to get in better shape. And a pad. Dang I was sore the night after.
No, I haven't been camping in a long time. I fish all night. Only similarity is a fire. And the food is usually better.
