I reckon I orta find somewhere to order some parts. Gas is goin up again and it'll be gettin warm soon. I figger I need an ignition coil and a plug and a new belt and a headlight.
I read somewhere last year that a new belt like one that came on it, is alil different in size than the one I got when the last one broke. That could make the difference in the speed. Mite as well get the original size and keep this one for a spare.

I'm really, really envious of ya HB that ya have one...Friend of mine knows I'd be interested in one, so he sent me the details of one he said was a really, really good deal. Only $699. That's a teensy bit more than I have sittin' around right now...be worth in in the long haul though if I could swing it.
Guess it's 'bout time to dust off the seat of the mountain bike I bought for cheap last year.....

Thats not a bad price for a new one, if that is what it is? Just keep in mind you can't haul much like ya do in yer truck. A couple sacks of groceries is about all. Or a collapsible fishing pole. But not a big flopping catfish. I spect you could haul bait fish, if thats what you were fishing for. I rode a bike to work last year when everything I owned was broke down. Bout killed me. Mine is not a mountain bike. Mine is and old Schwinn. Made in the 60's. I have a his and hers just in case I get a travel partner. I would weigh your mileage with how much you gotta haul with ya and the around about town trips ya make and see if it would be worth getting. I get about ten or twelve miles per gallon. It takes more for one trip to town than it takes all week on a scooter. Providing I don't havta haul much or go fishing.

When I was a youngster there was a man that lived in town that made a little wagon and had one of his goats harnessed up to it. He would sit in the wagon and hold a stick with a carrot tied to it, the goat went whatever direction he moved the carrot. Everybody thought he was nuts, but us kids thought it was pretty cool.

If your going to buy a scooter, DON'T buy a CHINESE one, they seem to break down more than they run. Good old Honda's, Yamaha's or something, but not Chinese. My bud rode a 250 Chinese scooter for two months and all he did was fix one thing after another.

The kids behind me hook their goats ( 4-H project) to a little cart and ride around the farm that way. They show their goats at the County Fair each year.. Said that it is fun to ride the cart and that it builds mussel on the goats at the same time..Hilly , they went over your way last summer and bought a couple of goats from somewhere in Missouri. They have several kind of them....

Well, I figgered out how to get the headlight shroud off or least out far enuff I could get the bulb out. Some reason one contact was either soldered or just welded itself to the connector doohickey. I think I gonna see if I can get a new doohickey as well. Pigtail, doohickey, whatever. I think I gonna have a long list of parts to order. I wanted to get the bulb out to see which one I needed. Lo and behold, there aint no numbers on it. The specs don't show the bulb and the pigtail thingy being all one piece. I still got tail lights. May just havta duct tape a flash light to the handlebars. lol I'm going with www.partsforscooters.com for my parts. They seem to be the most talked about place on the net. Seems alotta other dealers get their parts from there, too. And it don't cost an arm anna leg, either.

Got a friend here who has a scooter and rides it to and from a town 35 miles away, using the backroads...it's his only form of transportation (he lost his license and now he can't drive <<-- reminds me of Joe Walsh's song).
He loves riding that thing and says long rides are wonderful 'cuz you can see all sorts of things you miss when you're running down the road at the posted speed limit...says his goes 35-45 if I remember correctly.
He's the one who told me about the scooter for sale...don't remember what it was - thanks for the heads up in looking around for one, Papa!
It'd be great to get one to ride the 10 miles out to my job...country road without a lot of traffic...wouldn't ride it to fishin' holes...got too much stuff I carry when I fish.
Hope you get yours up and going soon HB...it'd save ya a fortune...I paid $3.69 a gallon a couple of days ago...and we're supposedly cheaper than a lot of places 'cuz the pipeline terminal ain't too terribly far away....(they save a little on transport costs so I've been told)...from what Buzzy said, we're way cheaper than out west....but we'll probably be seein' $4 soon, considering it's gone up about 25 cents in just about a week.
Anyway, good luck HB! I'm sending good mechanical thoughts your way. When ya get that done, wanna' change out my dome light switch? I'm having to do some creative stuff involving duct tape to get it to go off like it should, when it should...

Well, my friend Dave fixed the pigtail for me. So now I just gotta get a list together of what all I need to order. I think I mite could fix yer dome light, Nature. Unless its like the one in my chevy. When I got it, the bulb was in the glove box. I put it in an had a light. Then something else was haywire. Can't remember what but it was sumpthin as bizarre as the blinkers or the wipers or sumpthin. I took it back out and am using one of them lil led lights snapped on my visor. I think I gave you one of em back when you were up here for the fish fry.
