Still to wet here. I have to call a man from the next town to come and work the ground. I just don't think I can work it good with the tiller since I didn't have a garden last year. Maybe by next week if it don't rain the ground here will be dry enough. Yea post some pictures. We can have a contest who has the prettiest garden.

Well, I'm pretty much starting over this year. Only things that survived the winter snow and freeze are my Lilac bush, my Pinks, some flower with tiny purple flowers that I have NO idea what it is, and most of my cacti ! I was sure the cacti would die during the freeze, but for the most part, they came through pretty good, once I cut off some bad parts. Only one died. So I'll be hitting the nurseries to see what I can find this year. ;D Gonna try to tear down one half of my patio fence (it blocks my view too much and I hate it, want to be able to see out), then I'm gonna get more bricks and build a new garden, make it up higher so's I can reach it easier, and plant more flowers. Then my dad is gonna help me make wood and plastic hutches, nice ones, that when I'm not home, he can run over and put over my gardens during the bad weather next winter to protect the plants from the snow and freeze, kind of like little greenhouses. So it will be a busy spring and summer for me.

Hubby is suppose to get the tiller out today and change the oil and all that good stuff. Gonna try and get at least some ground ready for my taters. Having trouble finding anybody to disc the garden spots. Sure do have some lazy people around these parts. That's funny, HB.......pretty weedy. ;D Been working in all my flower beds...spent the last couple of weeks in em. Finally made it over to the north side of the house. Remulching all the beds. Going to Lowes next week and see what they have for flowers and bushes like I need anymore.

Well finally after hubby took his sweet time, the ole tiller went into overdrive this morning. Got some ground ready for my taters. Sure would have been better to have had the garden broke by a tractor but after about 2 hours out there I got it worked up good. Also made me a bed for some carrots and cabbage.
Will go in the morning get my fertilizer and the rest of the the stuff I need and get it planted tomorrow.

Monday I got my taters, carrots and cabbage planted. Also a lettuce and green onion bed. Been working in the yard all this week. Cutting down the orchard. It wasn't looked after last year because of my health and the bugs and worms infected every tree. I got all of them cut down. All I had was a bow saw. Sat on the ground and sawed away while trying to keep the trees from falling back on me. Glad nobody took any pictures or video. ;D Gonna have to mow the yard next week. Still alot to do around here, but slowly getting a handle on it.

Wow you are a go getter gurl !!!! Cuttin down trees and such. Too bad you didn't have one of them little handy chain saws. I always wanted one but I don't even have anything to cut down around my yard. lol. Just wanted one cause its so cute. Oh I do have a couple those stupid sweet gum trees that pop up every where in the corner of my backyard. Them suckers grow so fast! Sorry you lost all your fruit trees. Ron said his pear trees are full of blooms. He lost them (blooms and tiny pears) last year with a late frost. Yeee haaaa, I know where I am gonna get some fresh carrots and lettuce this year. LOL I just got to sneak in there round midnite before you get up for work. heee heee heeee

Hoping by the weekend to work the rest of my 2 garden spots and get them ready for a mass planting about the middle of April.
Not gonna plant any corn this year. Every year I do around the 4th of July we always seem to get a wind storm and no matter how much dirt I have raked up around it it blows it all over. Not worth the fuss.
I will plant all kinds of shelley beans, green beans, squash, tomatoes, eggplants, purple hull peas, sweet potatoes, cucumbers.
Got to get my order in the mail today to a seed company that sells a certain type shelley bean called a solider bean. OMG they are so good. I order them from Vermont bean seed company.

Joyce, you could do what I did one year when the wind was sposta blow real hard. And I was fraid my maters was gonna blow down.
I heard on the weather radio we's gonna have 60+ winds an raced home. Took some plastic snow fence I had got from a dumpster dive an staked it on the west side of my mater row. Just to beak the wind. My maters stayed up, even tho I dont think we had the full 60 mph wind. That was the year I had 128 mater plants out an didnt wanna lose em. I bet it'd work with any thing in the garden. Ya mite find some around a construction site. They just toss it after they're done with it.

I'll be watching for ya Starting working in the pasture this morning. Fence is in bad shape. Tried to do a little repair work on it. I want me some goats. Think I bit off more than I can chew on trying to fix it. Need a extra set of hands. Oh well, maybe later on this year. Working in flower beds, setting out and cleaning. Was gonna do some more tilling and the tiller had a flat. Naturally I don't know how to use the air compressor. Set out some more thornless blackberries, cleaned around the blueberries and grape vine. Did some mowing in the field around the fence row and also around the barn. Yea I meant to tell ya we seen a snake yesterday that had been run over on the interstate. Sure seems early for them devils to be out.
