Got to get in the garden and gather some stuff today. Looks like I will be mudding it. Got 2 good rains yesterday. Just sorta waiting for the sky to clear up a little. I planted 3 late rows other day in the garden. Gonna see how a late garden does this year. Yesterday morning on my grape vine I bet there was a thousand hard shell blackish green bugs. Never seen anything like em before. They had literally eat every leaf off the grapevine. I was not a happy camper, came back to the garage and got my Sevin, mixed up some in the sprayer and gave the grapevine a good spraying. Went back about an hour later and they had all fell of....deader than a door nail I checked the blackberries, blueberries and other stuff around the grapevine and couldn't find no more. I meant to do some research yesterday to find out what kind of bugs they were. Maybe today I will.

Sounds like Japanese beetles. I just did a search and yep that's what the devils were. In all my years of gardening that is the first time I have ever seen any around here. Talk about hot and humid here the sun has come out and I went down to the south garden and picked some kidney beans and then went around and gathered squash. You can almost see the heat and steam coming off the ground. Talk about the sweat a rollin'.

Those late rows I planted other day are already up. Purple hull peas are coming in good. Had some lice on them so I mixed up some Dawn dishwashing liquid in my sprayer and sprayed them good. It got rid of them. ;D
