Never tired em like that. I just sprinkle a little salt on them and pig out. That's the way I eat them for breakfast, with a little salt, but at night for dessert, the ice cream is great, especially when it's hot.

I got some cypress vine. It has tiny trumpet flowers that attract butterflies and hummers. It is easy to grow and grows fast. It reseeds its self so you could put it on the fence line somewhere, so it doesn't spread to your other flowers space. Or just pull up what you don't want growing. It grows as tall as you let it. I usually let mine grow up the end of my front porch but this year I put it on a trellis. You had so many pretty flowers it was hard to tell what you Don't have. lol, but I don't believe I saw that one.

I had some at one time but they quit coming up. Yep hummers really like them. I take some seeds. ;D
Owl, did ya get to plant those green beans? I was just wondering. I know it's been awful wet over there where y'all live.
Just got out of the purple hull pea patch. Got a little over a bushel off 2 rows. My back is flat hurting right now. I see an early morning get together with me and Mr. Ben Gay. ;D
Still got to get back out there and pick some of the blue blooms. Just guessimating I said there's bout a 1/2 bushel of then ready if not more.

I have tried just about everything for pain. I got something I will bring you joyce.
I have baby Rose of Sharons everywhere, want some of those?
I even got some baby Crepe Myrtle. Are they coming up from seed or do you think they are attached to the root? If it was from seed you would think there would be thousands coming up. lol Think it would survive? I got to dig those up anyway, can't have them that close together. I messed around and let one of mine grow into a tree. I wish it wasn't that big.

The babies prolly wouldn't make it but I could send ya some seeds rat. You got any seeds you could share too?
Joyce I got a bunch of seeds I saved few yrs ago, just wondered if they are still good. I keep them in a divided plastic bucket made for saving seeds that had a top that seals. I saved a few seeds last fall but not a whole bunch of them.

If they are sealed tight they are prolly alright. Seeds I want to save I keep them in the freezer. Protects them and they will germinate faster, imo. I don't know about the Crepe Myrtle. I'll have to do a little reading on that. We use to have a long row of the Rose of Sharons. They are so pretty. Back is better, now it's my legs really hurting. But they have hurt and ached since the first surgery last year.

From what I could find out crepe myrtles only come from the root. They say if you don't want alot of them coming up to spray around them with roundup to kill the new shoots.

I got em blooming, I got em coming up, and the ones blooming are loaded with seeds. I'll save ya some. Got a couple of Yuccas up by the road. They are sad looking. They were here when I moved here and I just never gave them much attention.

I haven't felt so great since working in the back yard Monday. Didn't do much of anything Tues. Wed a little bit but mostly laid around and today felt better and worked in front long flower bed. Oh sheesh I hurt so bad right now. I took pain pills and got pain patches all over me. I am still taking breaks but its getting to me. I guess I get to having so much fun and want to get it done, I don't know when to quit. Owie!!!!! The dirt is so dry in the front bed. The weeds are soooo bad there and small little trees even. I am having to use a hand hatchet and dig and pull weeds. I am sitting on my little rolling thingy which helps but I am not use to doing so much. Dang pain is interferin with my fun!! I am hoping if I keep at it I will get use to it. The celebrex is still helping or I could never do any of what I have done so far!

Poor Spydie, I sorry if I were closer to you I would help you. Did you try to dampen the dirt a bit so the dirt isn't so hard to work with? Not soaking but damp enough to be about an inch or two deep of damp soil? Some time's that works for me... And yes I really would have helped you if I could get to ya.

I could wet it but seems a waste of water on the weeds. Beside the roots of most of them are so deep I hit it a few times with the hatchet and comes out with a slight tug. Lots of those annoying wild hedges trying to take over and those big stalked weed things that grow so tall . I got one wild tree that I chopped on last yr and just didn't feel like finishing. I got it chopped and sawed about half way thru the bottom of it and it still grew like crazy. If it was wet I would still have to use the hatchet and I think that would get a bit messy. I got about half of the bed done now. But thanks shy, good idea if they were all shallow weeds.
Awww rat, thanks to you too.

Spydie, get you some roundup and spray those weeds, Ya know spot spray, the same for any small trees or bushes. Makes it alot easier. That's what I been doing on the north fence row where I can't get in there and clean it like I should. I have killed several old hedgey shrubs and vines. They hadn't come back.
I know roundup is expensive but it beats chopping and pulling your guts out.

I just don't do too good at spot sprayin that stuff. I did spray a little of it but quit cause I got some things I want to leave in the bed. I did spray around the edge of the beds and that stupid crawling creeping grass is a little easier to pull out. Wish I could spray my whole yard and kill my weed grass lawn but I could never maintain a real lawn. If I ever finish my flower beds, my next project is filling mole holes in the yard. Damn near fall if I ain't careful steppin in those all over the yard. I need to visit some of my neighbors this afternoon and see if I can round up more newspaper to put under my mulch in this bed. I put it too thin in the back but I checked it and its really working. Prolly until next yr when it composts but working right now.

I sprayed 6 gallon of roundup over the weekend. Time I went around the fence row, the flower beds, the garden. Bout thru with my garden. Picked the last of the purple hull peas and shelly beans. Just got the cantaloupes, sweet potatoes, maters and then the late garden which is doing great so far. Having to water it but what's new. Guess what I have extra newspapers.
